West Virginia Model RR'er's reply here!

I was just wanting to hear and perhaps see pics from people who live in WV and post on the site.

Thanks, beegle55

Hey beegle55! We don’t live there…yet. But we do plan to in the next 5- 10 years after I retire. My wife & I come out there all the time, and we even got married in Keyser in '05! We love the people, the mountains, and the trains. You can sample some of my pics on the CTT board, just type in The Britains are coming! The Britains are coming! Also try New shoes for Christmas.

Cool thanks!

YO beegle55…I live in Wv. Hutington if fact. And I model this area From C&O to CSX. If I see it here then I have the excuse to put it on the layout(in planning)

beegle55 - what area you from?

Got a question fer ya…

There was a guy that displayed a very nice N Scale layout during the Huntington train show during the 80s…

I can not recall the man’s name but,his freelance railroad was the Danville Trammel & Southern.

The reason I recall this layout because he and I displayed layouts one year during the show and it was odd his locomotives had Blue bodies with white frames and my CD&B Ry locos was Blue with Gray frames.

Is he still around?

Brakie…I have no clue who you are refering to. At this years show I did not notice the name or scheme you spoke of. Sorry I couldnt be of more help.

J.W.

Thanks for your reply…I have often wondered about that gentleman…He seem to be a very nice guy from the few times we talked during the shows…

beegle55,

Just checking in. I model HO (freelanced) and live in Follansbee. There are 10 or so guys living around the area that have been in a round robin group here for about 30 years. One of the guys lives in Wellsburg and another in Wheeling. Since we are so close to Ohio, several live in Steubenville, one in Martins Ferry and one in Toronto. Nice to hear from you.

Been in Morgantown for 15 years but getting ready to move back to Nevada. I model the FM&P line of the B&O through Morgantown. Attached is a website that describes it. It will not be around too much longer. - Nevin

i live in charleston… just do some scratch building and model diaroma’s and scenes i like locally…

Hi Ya’ll, Jim from Elkins, just doing my own thing in HO, and having a ball since I retired! Can’t find a Hobby Store closer than Bridgeport, 60 miles away, and he ain’t got much in there and way toooo high priced! Anybody know of one nearby?

Thanks for all of the reply’s, sorry I haven’t replied, but I haven’t had the time to get on the internet and take care of what I needed to. I live in Ripley, W.V, and I model freelance mostly, based on the CSX, Chessie (c&o and b&o), and Western Maryland lines.

beegle55 - that puts you between Parkersburg and Huntingdon. Hey, you’re not one of them fellers that bungee jumps off the bridge are you? Read that some guy wasn’t too lucky this past year. You have good tastes in railroads, but it looks like you have to travel a bit to get trackside.

I would try bungee jumping, but I would rather parachute! We have a camp on the river right past the bellville locks and there is a CSX line that goes through there, and I ride upriver on my jetski and railfan from the water and catch some glimpses of Dupont loads going in and out, Northern Burlington and NS lines even wonder up their. I also go to Charleston to get some railfanning in. I heard about the death at Fayetteville this year, the first death at bridgeday in quite some time. Thanks for the replys,
