What do you listen to while working on your layout?

When I had a layout to work on it was smooth jazz or country, occasionally classical.

Good Morning!

Like the barkeep said in the “Blues Brothers”, I listen to both kinds of music - Country AND Western!!!

Seriously, the Houston area has a classic country station and that tends to sooth the savage beast and make model railroading a bit nicer. And, every ten songs or so a mention of a railroad (Orange Blossom Special, City of New Orleans, Rock Island Line, etc.) will make it even better.

At other times, nothing beats classic rock, like the Stones or others that stirred us in the mid/late '60s or early '70s!

ENJOY,

Mobilman44

I listen to the tick of the clock in the background and the sound of my DCC system as the locos cross over various reversing sections and the PM42 makes a few quiet clicks as the circuit gets jumped.

In the summer the AC is on too, so that makes some noise, otherwise, I hear the annoying dogs barking around the neighborhood.

Then I guess I have a big “L” on my forehead as well.[;)]

“Just how big a boy are ya’?”

Depends on the mood I am in…I can listen to big bands to blue grass and country music from the 30s to rock and roll from the 50/60s…I also like CCR and the Eagles.

Yup its a mood thing.

Glenn Miller, Frank Sinatra, Tommy Dorsey.

The dogs and cats…if they are too quiet, they are up to something…if they are too loud, they are up to something.

I used to work with a guy who actually played the piano with the Dorsey Brothers and travelled all over the country years ago on trains with them. He later became a railraod engineer for awhile, then got into driving semis.Strange how life takes some strange turns!

He passed away a few years ago, and lived in Convoy Ohio, near Van Wert.
That man could play a piano!!! He also had a love for trains!

I also like listening to old time radio shows, like “Six Gun” with Jimmy Stewart, “Johnny Dollar”, “The Shadow”, “Gunsmoke” with William Conrad as Matt Dillon, “Hopalong Cassidy”, and “The Bob Hope Show”.

I listen to metallica, black sabbath, iron maiden, and lots of classic rock. Sometimes I will play instumental or techno. Depends on the mood. The best sound is the yb6 crawling nice and slow around my layout making all kinds of cool noises. [}:)] its the ducks guts!

TINNITUS any time I’m conscious.
