What is this? Online Ad service and do Kalmbach have anything to do with this?

https://buyercloud.rubiconproject.com/privacy/opt-out/

there is a Ad box that shows up in the lower right hand corner that Advertises stuff that has nothing to do with the Hobby whats going on here? Kalmbach policy has always has been to olnly take ads that have something to do with the subject matter thats why you will never see ads for Pepsi or Coke

DOES NOT EXIST ON MY COMPUTER

Perhaps only on special computers near the Ohio River?

I believe that with a little closer inspection you’ll see that the ad is not on the lower right hand corner of your computer screen, but on the lower right hand corner of your eyeballs. Probably the best fix for it would be black coffee.
Try this- Turn off your computer and don’t turn it back on.

No there it is a Ad for State Farm Insurance under Search Community. I also use hotel computers which might have cookies from other users

I did, and it didn’t work, he is still here, and so are his weird postings…

He has malware…

Sometimes comes from dicey sites.

At least this time he’s alone.

Run CC Cleaner to clean the crap off of your computer.

Do it weekly, and don’t forget.

Its also gud to edimucte yourseff on the ways in the innernet, and how to protect yourself.

Canadian Club cleaner?

No, it’s just called CCleaner, a free utility by Piriform Software. It used to be called something borderline-suitable for a family-friendly forum… They have a free disk defragmenter that I think is pretty good, too. (Download these directly from Piriform if you want them; as some of the ‘suggested’ downloading services are full of just the sort of malware drive-bys the software is supposed to be protecting you against…)

Also get, and run regularly, the malwarebytes ‘free’ version of the Anti-Malware program.

I used to run Ad-Aware, years ago, as a means of identifying and removing some of the more egregious targeted-advertising trackers and such. I will have to see if the ‘new’ version, which is supposed to be radically different, is still useful. Don’t let any of these programs install anything like Google Chrome, or reset your search engine to Bing, or whatever, when you install them – watch those little options and checkboxes!

Download Firefox browser and let your Pc use IE in the background for updates. Very easy. You can easily transfer your sites in Favorites to Boomarks in Firefox.

My stepson and girlfriend both do the same.

Then get some Add-Ons like AdBlock Plus, Flash Block, Flash Stopper,

Clear History, cookies every so often.

Do not allow third party cookies.

Look in settings.

Some years ago when I use Windows, I did the same.

Rich

Thanks Richg I just did that and my internet just sped back up to warp speed.
