WHERE In . . . Illinois . . . Is That Chinese Steam Engine ???

Where in the world is . . . Carman Sandiego ? ? ? [?] [?] [?]

Well if you can’t find him how about finding the Chinese steam engines?

Has anybody seen them???

Ed said they moved from the yard where he works. But since then they seemed to have vanished. [:0]

Has anybody seen them? ? ?

Jim, unless you have a carman named Sandiego down where you work, the TV “star”, Carmen Sandiego, was a “she”! (Daughter #2 used to watch that show with her parents.)

Would they have escaped Houston ahead of the flood?

They’re going to have to hurry if they want to get to Galesburg for Railroad Days! [}:)]
(Wouldn’t that be a nice surprise!)

Here are the car numbers if someone can track them.

BNSF 585065
BNSF 585129
QTTX 131052
QTTX 131042 (I think)

I dont know and I wouldnt what to bet on it But,they were probably moved under tarps and under cover of darkness so there woulkd not be crowds ,throngs of people wanting to take pics of them…[2c] Danny

Chad your numbers are correct. I have seen a slight variation but it might have been just a typo. [8]

Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo where are they ? ? ?

Somewhere on the railroad tracks if BNSF hasn’t rolled them over in a ditch, which would be sort of funny after they put out the press release. In all seriousness, I hope they are in one piece (or at least two) headed up the railroad, because they either need to roll through and somebody see them or show up in an equipment trace.

Zach,
four cars, tenders on on flats BNSF #s 585065 and 585129, locomotives on QTTX#s 131052 and 131042, when they left here, the locomotive were head out, followed by the tenders.
They were on the head end of BN318, a BN yard transfer run.

Did I sent you the photos?
e mail me if I didnt…
Ed

Yeah, I got all the photos of them down there, but dang, you’d think somebody else would see them. Are they like, actually en route or are they still in Houston or something in a yard?

If they are still here, BNSF has them hidden, and quite well too!
They are not in South Yard, although they may be in “Old” South Yard, which is hidden inside a industrial complex.
Not at Pierce, or Casey, or the BN Hub.

They are not at UPs Englewood, or Settagast, and you can see all of East Yard from the freeway, not there either.

My guess is that BN ran them out of Houston Monday night…the BN uses form of directional running…inbounds into the metroplex most of the day, outbounds away from here at night.
I would think they should be around Fort Worth or Dallas at least.

According to a trace done this morning, by someone who will remain nameless, the steam engines left Houston on June 16th.

My question is how come no body has seen them???

Where the heck are they???

Hey some of you BNSF guys, please trace them and tell us what you come up with.

THANKS

More than likely they’re under tarps…perhpas disguised in another way too.

They are in the siding with the shackle cars.

Did Detective Cinderdick put them there? ? ? [?] [?] [?] [:D] [:D] [:D]

I am beginning to think that BNSF hired David Copperfield to make them dissappear from Texas and magically reappear in Iowa. [:o)] [8D] [:D]

WE

FOUND

THEM

I will tell you where in a few minutes. [:D]

im waiting ***…

They are finally showing up on traces but we are trying to make sure of their true location before we jump the gun. [;)]

But it does finally look like they ARE on the move. [:)]

whats the train symbol as I have looked for them but cant seem to find a train with the proper symbol?

Hey youngengineer [:)] please email me through the forum email.

We can use all the help we can get. [;)]

According to Zach and some of his sources the Chinese steam engines are on H HOUGAL9 21. It was around the Somerville, Texas, area about 9:30 tonight, with BNSF 838 and BNSF 636 as power.
