Wow what?!?!?! SP SD9E 4433, a.k.a the second PNWR 1854, has an accident on the Willamette Valley Railroad?

According to page 34 in issues 363-373 of Pacific Rail News, WVR SD9E #4433 (formerly known as SP 4433) was involved in a collision with a logging truck and sent to the WVR’s Independence shops in Independence, Oregon for repairs.

I’m not sure about when this happened nor if it was lightweight or pulling a train. Can someone explain what happened and who was responsible for the accident?

It looks like it could have happened in 1994, because that was the year when 363-373 were published, but I’ll take that with a grain of salt.

I hope this was the only accident that the 4433 was involved in.

Please. Just. Stop.

Perhaps you should take your rail disasters to a TV channel that shows that stuff.

Well, I can’t because I don’t have all the details on this particular event.

I can understand that talking about accidents can make trainmen nervous but the reality is they’re going to happen. There’s no rule against talking about them.

There are two ways of talking about them - talking to learn so that the incident does not get recreated or the ‘Hold my Beer’ way.
