2008 [PART 2] and the Coffee Pot is still on and now 4 years old. Here we gather as friends with trains. Sweet ice tea too.

Yep I remember when I had to do the plastic bag afer my ACL surgery. The hardest part was lifting myself in and out of the shower with the crutches, as I could only put pressure on one knee or I was gonna fall down. I did end up falling down on one occasion, and I used a counter top to get up. Not exactly one of my happiest moments.

Good Morning All

Hope the Chief is feeling better soon! Its not unusual when someone has a significant change in environment, they can have a reaction to it. (new office).

Some of you guys might want to head out this way, looks its going to be awhile before you may dry out back there. SURE HOPE GUSTAV AND HANNA ARE LESS THAN EXPECTED.

Made a significant accomplishment last night, got ALL my Ross switches and indicators in sync and operating correctly. Doesn’t sound like much, but trust me it is. (Having the correct LED light at the right time given ganged switch connection, left sometimes isn’t, and right can be random, then having a X crossing and each leg is controlled by another switch, and of course the 3 way. And then it all tied into the DCS AIU for remote capability. But got it !! And its all responding correctly.

Really disappointed reagarding the following:

With John getting a new generator, (propane powered?), my testing services will see a definite decrease in demand! And what really hurts is I was just about to be ISO certified. (Intense Scale Operators)

Off to work, hope everyone has a great day, and if your traveling be Careful !!!

Rich, all yuz giz from up Nawth have to do is open your mouth and we know. [(-D]

Am I glad that XM/Sirius is going to be that way. We like Sirius better than XM. XM comes on Toyota and you use to have to exchange your audio system to “private” one get Sirius on a Toyota.

Slow this AM. Taking a break from Town and etc. Cold is here so just ride it out. Now can’t wait until 9-18 for Lake House closing. We have already started buying little things to go there [comes furnished] like water hoses, tools, “nick nacks” and etc. Pull the Ranger up and keep it there. Opens up a big bay in shelter. Will pull out folding protable table saw and use that bay for that. Just cover it with tarp and not fold it up like now.

Not suppose to talk political here but someone just made a very smart move on selecting a running mate.

Chat later.

Hi Guys,

I just got home from my deaconate formation retreat in the Abby of Gethsemani in Trappist Kentucky. WOW, it was really something, more than I expected. I’ll be trying to catch up on the pot later. I will check back later.

May God bless

Jim

True.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Thanks Fife and everyone for the info on the Chargers[tup] Still want one but will wait awhile and maybe the will come down in price[#dots] Untill then will be tooling around in the TransAm and or my Truck.

Oh did anyone see the article in MR about the large weedwhacker, it was a trackmobile with a very large weedeater on the end of a boom/arm very cool if you like M.O.W equipment.

Too early for me to answer, but you are free to call of course [:P]

Too the family to the depot in Kirkwood and sent them to KC at about 4:30, then hit the train store. I picked up another of those 1:50 house kits, the second and last one they had in stock. This one is some kind of rustic house. Looks cool, can’t wait to get my layout going and start doing the scenery and stuff. Good project for a rainy day after the basement is done.

Just read on another forum that the Lionel Lionmaster Big Boy is delayed again until sometime next year. Not sure if that is good or bad news. Have had the money for it in bank for months. If situation remains the same may have to use for other expenses.

Not much else to report, hope everyone has a great holiday weekend.

Good evening all

Lionel was doing business with the company tied up in the lawsuit. I would think as others, they have a parts shortage and will have to wait for things to get rolling again, before they can assemble and ship. Thats going to take some time.

I had a slow day today as meds still keeping me liteheaded. But almost gone, I’ll see the results in a few days. I did some train stuff today but nothing worth noting here. Enjoy your weekend. Brutus we can leave now, have a wild three days, return and start over. Ready? S.J.

Brutus, those houses look great maybe based on English countryside homes.

Had a major fight with a cloged kitchen sink this afternoon lesson learned do not stand directly under a pipe opening while using the snake to clear a clog I had to take an extra bath today[(-D]

HI GIZ,

Damp day here, but first week is in the books. Had a great week with kidos. All are eager to learn hope it lasts? Ran trains tonite in the MILLERSBURG YARDS all good NO PILE UPs. Ran both Lionel UP FEFs great looking together on two different tracks, fun fun fun.

BRUTUS pick me up in DA TARDIS for a great weekend binge.

All sleep good,

laz57

Sure thing, Laz! Got some cold Sam Adams and probably some Old Mills left on the Tardis! Sir James went to bed, so we can go over and buzz the house and maybe grab some popcorn or chips? [;)]

Evening all!

Been a long time since my last post. Change in work responsibilities has really bogged me down - big project ongoing and will be several months before it levels out (and if I don’t wear out first).

Kids are back in school. Having both in HS is making life in one area a bit easier. First football game was last night. Won big, but we changed to an easier division.

Son is on the HS drumline playing the Quads (4 drum set that he carries - ugh) - he looked and sounded really good last night.

Looking forward to York in about 7 weeks. I need the break and it will be good to see some old friends!

My aunt in Akron broke her hip and it had to be replaced. She is not doing great at the moment. Say a prayer for her.

Hope all are doing well!

Prayers for your aunt, Roy.

Good night. Sleep tight and don’t let the bed bugs bite.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill…

It is a cloudy 70 degrees. Feels like it may rain, but they say No. Going up to 86 today with some sunshine.

Today is a busy day. I have a few chores to do and then, I may start the mowing. Grass is growing slower, but it’s time for a cut. Gas has dropped again, here. At $3.49 a gallon. I wonder if it will hit $2.99 this year. I don’t think so. Big storm down south will bring it back up.

Dining car has arrived and it’s time for breakfast. Later.

Y’all have a great Saturday.

Chuck

Happy Labor Day weekend boys. Overcast, humid & 72 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Gonna spend some time in the layout room this AM, then fifey’s-wifey and I are headed to Stewartstown for an overnight “retreat” with some dear friends.

Wes - Happy Anniversary.

mitchie - Did we ever come up with a cool school mascot name, like the FIREBALLS…?

kpolak - …but won’t that guanno smell get rancid afterwhile…?[xx(]

Roy - 7 WEEKS!? Holy-frijoles, I’d better step things up. Good to hear from you brother.

cnw1995 - That’s how I discovered WVSB in little Romney, WV. Best classic country music in the land [tup], but no live-stream [:(].

Phish - “Abby of Gethsemani in Trappist Kentucky”…wasn’t that an old Oak Ridge Boys hit?

tmcc*-nowa-*man - Take my advice, and spend that time with your pop building that garden rr. Keep things simple, son. (insert Cats in the Craddle song here…)

Chief - what happens if they do bite…[D)]

He just wanted less noise…I guess unforseen costs I somehow left out [:-^]:

  1. Oranges for food.
  2. Clean-up.
  3. Additional windows for fresh air, and insulation exercise. [:-^]
  4. Good news is they sleep during school hours!

Maybe earplugs for the basement dwellers… or throw pillows (instead of chairs) for the upstair crowd. [;)]

Morning all. May everyone have a SAFE and HAPPY holiday. Up at 4 AM as Burg and Lucy wanted breakfast and to “go out”. Cooked stuffed sausage and biscuits. Drank some coffee and ate while Pam slept. Wildone [Lucy] played with Burg [just lying on the floor] for a short while and then went to sleep. Next thing I knew, it was 8:30 and Pam was up. Reclinerized in the early morn. Off to Miss Edna’s in a few. Nothing planned for this holiday. Will probably mow [good for the cold] later this afternoon. Later.

Not sure, but makes sense. The Abby is about 10 miles from Bardstown Ky. and four (I think) bourbon distillerys).[:P]

If bed bug bites are anything like chiggers, calimine lotion help with the itch.[:I]
