2008 [PART 2] and the Coffee Pot is still on and now 4 years old. Here we gather as friends with trains. Sweet ice tea too.

Thanks, Ray. That was a terrible wreck.

GOOD EVENING

RAIN<>RAIN<> AND RAIN,all day, all night tonite, and all day tomorrow,Ike arrives here at some time tomorrow after it gets through Chicago. I’m going to watch the Buckeyes and listen to the rain…S.J yes I do have banilla. Doug let’s hope our sump pumps keep working.

Yup. Been raining pretty steady all day. Grass looks great!

Hope everyone weathered Ike Ok. Looks like gas is going up.

Kurt

The weather in Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio is really been strange today. If you watched the Michigan-ND game, it was pouring in South Bend, IN which is just a few miles south of the Michigan-Indiana State Line. Then on ESPN if you watched the Purdue-Oregon game, less than 90 miles south, it was perfect weather.

The Buckeyes are getting kicked around by USC tonight.

A spokesperson for the LA Metrolink said that their commuter train went through a red signal. Twenty five dead. The communter train was equipped with a “black box” recorder so they may find out what happened. http://www.knbc.com/news/17462062/detail.html?dl=mainclick

Now we are hearing about how our Coast Guard and others are searching for those who did not heed the hurricane evacuation. In the next few days, we will probably hear people complain about how long it took for the authorities to take care of them or why didn’t they come and get me when I called for help during the storm.

Just talked to buddy in Houston and he just got power. Minor roof damage. Buddy up on T-Bend and he is on generator but survived with only front roof damage and all his pecans on the ground. Got trailer painted and ready for flooring. HOT AND HUMID. Soaked through jeans and shirt. Finished at 6 PM. Showered and wife had ribs ready for dinner. Later.

Good evening all,

First of all, thoughts and prayers going out to all affected by weather and train wreck. It was hot, humid and dry in SE Indiana today. I watched “my” soccer girls get embarrassed again today. Sure the score was 2-0, but the other team’s fullbacks were in our half of the field most of the game (basically that meant they thought so little of our offensive capabilities they had no defensive people helping their keeper). The reserves lost 2-0 as well, but I did get to see my “student” play about 10 minutes. I reffed a U-14 game this afternoon and mowed the yard this evening. Lucas came home this weekend but was spending most of his time with his girlfriend (go figure). The natural order of the universe has come undone as STR (ex-Minardi) is starting 1 and 4 in F-1 tomorrow. They have never been on the podium and now have two excellent chances to win. I had an eclectic variety of food on the dining car this morning. I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Thoughts and Prayers for the Buckeyes…Blackeyes

My buddy got a digital projector for his birthday and we just got home from a screening of Star Wars (original one) on a huge screen - I think it was about 8 feet by 20 feet? Man - very cool!

BRUTUS,

ROOF will be ready for Sunday nite, a little sticky right now and wife really wouldn’t like seeing the world dangling from DA TARDIS. But stop by and I’ll trow you a couple o tree OL MILs.

laz57

Great News…Notre Dame beat Michigan !!!

Once again, the Buckeyes learn you gotta play the game.

HI GIZ,

Hot and sticky here today. Started out at 70 now to get to new record of 94? Will see? Was gonna take off running today but have this guilt feeling so I’m going now for a 4 miler.

Later,

laz57

Raining and strong winds, but no lightning here. The lights keep dimming, so I’m on the battery now just to check up on you guys. Laz, you are on man!

Good Morning Peeps…

Mowed the yard yesterday, then got out the weed eater. But anyhow got all the weekend chores done yestreday, so I could go to the Train Show today! Off to the show.

Prayers out to the ones who were hit by Ike and or are still in the path thereof…God Bless you and all your people…

Mornin’ boys. Hot and sticky here, too.[:P]

Got a lot done yesterday. Continued my balancing act on the ladder while painting, and even put the birthday boy on the business end of a paint roller (garage - first coat).[tup] Then the littlest princess and I spent the evening hours assembling a fall forest, using Scenic Express trees dipped in Woodland Scenics flock. BTW, Mount Molson is history, and Knobley Hill is in full color now.

GOOD MORNING

Ike has picked his path,Brutus to Doug and then Kurt and me by evening they say. I just measured 2 3/4 inch’s of rain in my Maxwell house rain guage. Thats from yesterday, 2 to5 today depending on location. No trains yet today, actually I’m not sure what I’m going to do today so everyone just play nice…S.J.

OH not everyone lost yesterday. Michigan State and the Toledo Rockets won.

It got so warm & humid yesterday that we kicked the a/c back on… good grief. Woke up this AM and it was 58 with drizzle, strong winds and acorns by the truck load hitting the roof. We have better weather ahead, I hope. Taking the boss to the airport this noon as she has business in Jackson Hole, WY for three day and of course I get to stay home, DANG IT! The air fare for me was $775.00----that’s why I’m staying home, I was there 40 years ago and I still remember how beautiful it was. That whole area has to be one of the most beautiful places on the planet. My son and I will be motorcycling that area and Yellowstone next summer plus Mt. Rushmore, I am worried a little though, he is in a very serious relationship with a new girl-------:frowning: I will go alone if I have to, the clock is running and I need to work on my bucket list. I guess maybe at 29 he starting to settle down.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill…

It’s a beautiful day. 80 degrees. Going up to 89 today with sunshine.

Today is a relaxing day. I plan to sit outside and enjoy the weather. All the chores are done. Wind is kicking up but it feels good. I’m glad all that rain is missing us.

SPF is great today.

Dining car was here and breakfast is done.

Y’all have a great Sunday.

Chuck

Morning all. Early Church and SS. Then to Teeter to their buy one get one free sale. Getting things for the Lake House. HOT AND HUMID!!! [V] Temps drop tomorrow and will be in the 70’s. [^] Hope to deck the utility trailer this afternoon. Hardest part will be drilling all those holes for bolts to hold the decking down. Have a good one.
