Hey all. Sitting here in Rebel land airport aka CLT. Heading West for NBA again. Be back Thursday and then back Sat to LA depending if there is a game 7. If not maybe going out a little later for the finals.
Prayers for all who need 'em. Just too many pages to go back through. Hate to say it but I ususally end up reading the last one only. Just too many.
The trestle project is nearing completion and I’ll try to post some pictures. Thanks to Frank53 for some good advice on them.
Take care all or now that I’m in Rebel land…Y’all![:D]
Afternoon all. Wiring and plumbing repairs done at Frankie’s old house. Shake and Bake, I was wiring houses and etc when you were still peeing in your diaper. [:O][:-^]
Now all you CSX fans, this was on Trains.com. Shame, Shame.
FRA report: CSX hid employee injuries
Print | Email | Contact Us May 5, 2008 JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - CSX supervisors allegedly pressured employees to decline treatment for injuries so incidents wouldn’t reach Federal Railroad Administration reporting requirements, according to a story in the Tampa Tribune. The allegations come from an FRA report, which claims actions of CSX supervisors sent a “chilling” message to employees about how to handle potential injuries.
The report details 19 cases from Georgia to New York that FRA officials say constitute harassment and intimidation of injured workers. It noted CSX pays bonuses to supervisors who keep employee injuries down, and said the company boasted to shareholders of a 40 percent reduction in reportable injuries in the past three years.
Spokesman Gary Sease said the company “does not tolerate intimidation or harassment of injured employees,” and said it had taken steps to deal with the “isolated” incidents outlined in the report.
Must be run by a bunch of Yankees. [(-D] Speaking of a Yankee, if I had known Marty was in Charlotte, I would have delayed Frankie’s work and driven to Charlotte to harrass him [high gas prices and all]. Always worth it to get a Yank.
Well we had a gloomy day, overcast and 50s. No rain here but I would guess there was some nearby. I took my wife to the eye Doc. today and everything was ok, I go next month. This month I get to see the P Doc. I need to get my PSA this week as he wants the results when I see him. Ten years ago this month he carved out my prostate,so I don’t miss my appointment.
Ran some trains for a little while tonite, made a deal to sell two engines I don’t use and I wanted to make sure they run ok.They did, they are Lionel.
Brutus,Doug,Kurt, and anyone else, got banilla, peach ice cream and apple pie. Bring the dogs so I won’t have to do the dishes later…S.J.
Hey there, Sir James – I’ll BELLY UP for some apple pie!
Was going to do some lawn work, but had to do grocery shopping instead. That’s okay, we should have another day without rain this week, right? Pretty soon, I’m going to start building an ark!
Sounds like things are back to normal in the war between the states!
Prayers for your Mom, Jason…
Okay, so what purpose would a barrell “tower” serve anyway? The opening on this model kit I saw is apparently away from the tracks? Is this prototypical at all, or just junk?
Well, it has been several days since I got to check on the “Pot”. Had a lot of catching up to do. Now, let’s see: Mike, all things considered regarding Lucas, it is all gravy. After what he and the family went through and survived, the challenges life throws at you are mear bumps in the road. You all will be fine. I will still say a prayer.
Chuck Sorry I missed your birthday. I have been preoccupied these last few days. Hope it was good for you. And, as for the Chief taking it easy on y’all, He is storing up for the Big One as he was not able to drop the York Bomb and will have to make up for it.
Chief, Frankie sure doesn’t fall far from the tree. Seems like a fine gentleman you raised there. I wish him luck on his new addition.
Doug, This too shall pass. You and your bride are good examples for her to follow and I am sure with patience and time, she will be just fine. You may have a few more greys from all this, but remember to turn it over to God.
Sorry if I missed anyone. On this end, been busy. I just finished installing the first of two “hidden Screen” style doors that we special ordered from Anderson Windows. Real neat the way they do things and even after an amature like me did it, it looks good. This weekend was real busy. Had MIL and her husband over Friday and Saturday…so we had to entertain, even though we were exhausted from the last two weeks schedules. Then, on Saturday, we had our daughter’s ballet recital. She danced well the first routine and did well. They had several other groups dance for about an hour in between the first and second routine for her group and by the time the second one took place, she just wanted “Mommie”. When she came out on stage, she just stood there. Looked around as the other girls danced,
Dougd’G - Wish I could - my business trips never have any allowance for personal time as I do not control the agendas. This trip I will not even have a car (sharing w/4 other folks). Lot’s of folks flying in form all over the world for a strategic planning session lasting 2 1/2 days. Meetings typically go from 7 or 8 am until 6 or 7 pm with working meals. If anything changes I will let you know via the forum. The only slight possibility is if the meetings end early on Friday and I could find a ride.
A beautiful day here, but rain supposedly rolling in starting late tomorrow night. Should quit bt the time I return late Friday.
It is a cool and sunny 48 degrees. Going up to 72 today, with lots of sunshine.
Today is a less busy day. Wife has routine check up appt. with her doctor today. I will be spending a lot of time outside. Grass is not in need of mowing. Wet, but will dry out. Maybe I will do a little work on the garden area, later.
Dining car is here and is ready for breakfast. Later.
I’ve got no idea which way is UP right now… so swamped with everything.
Jason - sorry to hear about your mother, you and your family will be in our prayers.
…
Have to go back to Friday to catch up on everything that has transpired.
Received a phone call Friday night from 1688Torpedo. Keith it was nice chatting with you. I appologize for being preoccupied, Susie-Q and I were trying to destress from the news. Saturday I had to return the RS-3 to the LTS, seems there is an incompatibility between its KLine cruise and Legacy (at least I and the LTS repair staff couldn’t get it to function). So I exchanged it for some more Thomas stuff (Katie is coming over this weekend so it will give us something to do in the train room). Had a visitor (Fife’s and my friend Tom) on Saturday who brought along some foreign motive power to run on the second level grades. Had a Santa Fe U38? and a UP SD70 on the rails, ran great and have pics to post. Put the C&O Streamlined Hudson on the second level with her trailing 7 passenger cars and she took it like a champ. Really need to upgrade her to TMCC with cruise, she will run better then.
Yesterday I had to take a vacation day to get my paper completed for school. Have to finish my team paper today and then I’ll have smooth sailing the rest of this week and next and then I’ll be FINITO! [tup]
I know there is lots more to share, but can’t remember what else I wanted to say. Will check in later…
Morning all. First off I just wanted to say Thank You for all the thoughts and prayers for my Mom. Looks to be a bright and sunny day with a high around 72. I think I will take the kids for a bike ride before school. While my daughter is at school I think I will take my son exploring. This past winter I found what looks like an old elevated coal dump. It is next to the CSX (old B&O) Cleveland Sub, deep in the woods. We saw it on one of our many walks in the woods just didnt have the time to check it out that day. Will go visit with my mom after the kids are done with school for the day. She says she feels ok, just waiting for her leg to clear up and see how the chemo affects it again. They are keeping till at least Thursday to make sure there are no problems. When we get home I think i will Bar-B-Que some ckicken and enjoy the nice weather. Hope every one has a great day. [:)]
Brent do you have the K-line Allegheny running? And if so any problems with it and Legacy? I will be getting Legacy when I get back to work and would like to think there will be no problems with it and my allegheny.
IIABSDISEI with temps in the 70s. Last night I got to practice with the high school teams, both the boys and “my” soccer girls. Actually I think there were as many coaches, other adults, and hangers on as there were kids, but it was a good workout. I even managed to outplay some of the kids in one-on-ones (old age and treachery ) and then we scrimmmaged for a while. I had a great time. Then I came home and did some eBaying and some Second Life. For those of you with deep pockets, there are a couple of Lionel Ives late transition cars whose auctions are ending sometime this morning. These are 500 series Lionel cars with Ives plates and 1770 series numbers and Lionel couplers. Very rare. I was hoping I might be able to snag a bargain but bidding has already gone beyond I want to spend. Tonight I get to mow but Lucas will be home to help as well. Still no word on how much to fix the car.
I had the usual fare on the dining car this morning. I hope everyone has a good day.
Mornin train folks. Looks like it going to be a nice day in Pensacola Fl. Picked up all the cork roadbed yesterday and it should all be down by the end of the week. Need to stain and paint the control panel I built this weekend as well as do the final wiring. It will then be ready for the TMCC hookup which should arrive to first week of June. Its all starting to come together now. I would love to work on it today but have a long day at work ahead. Everyone have a great day.
