Thank you all for the Birthday wishes!
Spent the day touring the USS Iowa, now I remember why I enlisted in the Air Force, way to confining aboard the ship. and to think there were 2700 crew members on board! Wow! During the entire time we were touring her, I couldn’t get that thought out of my mind. Hats OFF to all you Navy guys !!!
Well see about starting the layout wiring today, finally! Going to completely redo it, have some ideas I want to implement.

If that’s not amazing enough, I think it’s even more amazing how fast they can design and build em’! Think of how many came out of the yards between Jan 1942 and the summer of 45! [:S]
Penny Here’s some factual history about two of them. The Wisconsin BB-64 is said it’s so long it reaches from Wisconsin to Kentucky. ( now the history behind that) it is actually about 4" longer than the rest as it was in a colision and They replaced the bow on it, with the bow from the Kentucky which was just starting to be built. And they scrapped the Kentucky.
The Iowa ( thanks Don for the correction been a few years since I was on the Wisconsin( 26) actually has a bathtub on board, it was put there for Teddy Roosevelt while on it for the surrendering of Japan. ( he was crippled if you remember)

Mornin’ boys. Cloudy and 64 along the Patterson Creek cut-off. All of my princesses are in town, + grandson. Youngest gave me the longest hug of her life as I pulled into driveway. Life’s good.

MIke C - careful driving! Sounds like the trip is going well! They just pulled the USS Constitution out of dry dock from repairs. Don’t know if it is available for tours yet. If so it is a “must do” item for Boston.

2 longs days, got out at 1130 and 12 respectively and just dog tired.
On a good note, I did book my “trip” so I’ll be seeing summer go out at Seaside Park ON THE BOARDWALK Labor Day Sunday to Tuesday at a resort. Really excited, need the time away.
Job interview today at 530 and then County Fire meeting at 8, should be a shorter night.

Went to the Harvard Museum of Natural History today. Survived. Wife wanted to see glass flower exhibit. Spent an hour doing that… Tomorrow we tackle the Aquarium and the DUKW tour. Hopefully less intense. Wish us luck as we will need it… I hope everyone has a good day.

Hello there,
this morning spent 5 hours with mom in the ER. Nothing found. Was told its part of aging.Pretty skeptical of that.
Now on the way back from Pittsburgh. Docs sent Mrs for a CT of the heart. Something new that predicts blockages better than a stress test. Feels funny to be riding shotgun.
Had followup with ortho doc yesterday. Repaired one big tear and one small one. Also removed 3 bone spurs. Should feel much better when healed. Feels way better than last week. Said I can drive when I feel up to it as long as no opioid pain meds. Non of them since Saturday. Gonna give it till Monday.
Don…belated birthday wishes.
Phish…congas on the crossover panel . I’ve gotten some good ebay bargains in the summer.
Fife…sounds like a good time with the clan.

Got the York meet notice in today’s mail. Been watching the mail for the latest CTT since someone said they got theirs. Found it today in a pile of stuff in the kitchen. Must’ve came last week when I wasn’t with it.

Mornin’ boys. Partly sunny & 66 along the Patterson Creek cut-off. Chief’s least favorite railroad had a major derailment in Hyndman, PA. The whole town was evacuated due to hazmat cars on fire. This is 22 miles north of new Fifedom. I will be telling our ridership to stay out of Wills Creek this week.
Took the family up to Deep Creek Lake yesterday. Kids had good time paddle boarding and kayaking. Working today, so not sure what the kids want to do when I get home.

Afternoon fellas
Been very busy, and kinda forgot to stop by.
Christina turned 6 on Tuesday! Yes, 6! My little girl is growing up much too fast for Daddy’s comfort. Still get my daily hug and kiss (which makes everything worthwhile). Took the family to Hersheypark last Friday, wasn’t busy (think due to afternoon storm threat). TheQ wants to take them again next year and stay in either Hotel Hershey or Hershey Lodge and do two days (they have a shuttle that allows you to come and go to the park, so thought is to go in the AM, then come back at lunch and rest, then go back later for the evening)… we’ll see as we have a big vaca scheduled to Turks & Caicos at Beaches.
Haven’t received my York packet yet. Hope to make it this October if TheQ is back from Germany.

Weather is great, just wish I could enjoy it more. I’m off tonight to go play with the water and those big hoses…
Should be a great weekend and the resort just verified my reservation. 2 weeks after I’ll be in Wildwood for convention. Hope to find something else that pays the mortgage and less of my days…
