It was a sunny but cold in SE Indiana with temps in the 40s. This is a quick note to let you know I am still alive and I survived the weekend. I will update all tomorrow as I took today off. I hope everyone has a good day.
Hi all, it’s been a busy Monday. Made visits at four hospitals this afternoon, then made some home visits this evening. Looking forward to kicking back and relaxing a bit with a book before bedtime.
A bit warmer today, but overcast so we didn’t get out of the 50’s. Should warm up through the week and be back to the mid 70’s by the weekend with more rain coming too.
Found out the Railking 2-8-0 Pennsy passenger set I ordered is back-ordered until August! Oh well, I’ll have something to look forward to at the end of the summer. The RK 2-6-0 I won on Ebay came in, so I’m not too disappointed. [:)] Now, if I could get around to building a layout to run it on . . . [:-^]
The push was on today to get cars ready for auction. Of course this is the time that everything that can go wrong will. Solinoid switch decides to go SOUTH on a 56 T-Bird and I can’t hunt a new one up. Winter seems to be relentless. Although most of the snow has melted the flurries continue.
Colin,
Thanks. I wasn’t aware K-Line offered them as TMCC compatible. I’ll keep my eye out for them. Mine just has an ON/OFF switch for the smoke unit. Hope your dad is feeling better soon.
HE IS HERE!!! AROUND 6 OR 6:30. 7LBS SOMETHING. [CAUGHT FISH WEIGHING MORE [;)]]
MICROWAVE POPCORN TIME. Got to get up at 4:30 AM to leave here at 5:30. Going to take FIL to see the boy. Got to be back in Raleigh for Dr.s apt at 3 PM [favorite train loving Dr. lady]. Good movie on with Denzel Washington. , Inside Man on MAX.
Hello All! Tom P- Have a [bday][bday] Tommorrow. Hope you get something good. Congrats to “Grandpa Chief” for the newest addition to his family.[;)][:)] Colin - I hope the Doctor’s can do something for your father so that he does not keep winding up in the Hospital every few months. Buckeye- Glad you’re getting better. Hope you feel better also. Take Care all.
Congratulations Chief!!! Having grandkids is the greatest!!! Dr. John, sounds like a busy night. Had a wake this evening and funeral tomorrow. Glad I’m off till Friday. We ran trains with the grand kids this evening. They helped me repair some loose tracks. I won a loading platform and operating car on the bay, 770 & 734. I wonder will it will fit on the layout.
Happy Birthday Tom!! You share your birthday with my daughter Katie. She’s a little younger though…only 25.
Tonight is the first time it is not snowing in the last 5 days. We got about 22 or 23 inches over that time. Our sunrise service on the shores of Chautauqua Lake was in a snow storm. I had to do the readings and to see them I had to keep brushing the snow off the pages. The neat part about the service was that during part of it there were loons calling on the lake.
Looks like another Polar Express scheduled for NC !! Congratulations Chief !! Wait awhile until he is bigger than the fish before you take him fishing.
Congratulations to Grandpa Chief. I am sure there will be some trains in that little guy’s future. We need to see some pics Grandpa.

Had a nice day yesterday. Took the Mrs. on a shopping expedition. We had lunch out at a nice little diner. Came home and rested for a while then watched some TV. Nothing too exciting, but a day off is better than any day at work [swg].
Now, Y’all don’t think the Chief is going to spoil this kid, do ya?..[:)] Congratulations Chief! That is fantastic news.
Getting ready for the first case of the day. Ran some trains on the main loop last night, just a test as I want to make sure everything fits…after Frank’s thread on mistakes. Anyway, looks great, nice touch with all the Fastrack switches lit up. Also found something nice out. A KW that I had won on the Train Station’s web site, I thought was going to need some overhaul work, well, it was in perfect condition in the box. Even the power cord was in good order.
Hope to get some more train time in over the rest of the week.
Miss a day on the forum, miss a lot. It is warmer but cloudy in SE Indiana with temps above 50 today. May have to fire up the lawn mowers tonight. I left a note with Lucas to start the “weapons of grass destruction” tonight. The Second Armored Lawn Mower Division is ready to move out and cut down the enemy where ever it is found. The perimeter on the southern flank has to be secured first to prevent infiltrators from south of the Ohio from sneaking in:-)
Chief, congrats on being a granddad. There is no better feeling. Buckeye, as Colonel Potter on “MAS*H” used to say, “This, too, shall pass.” I hope you are doing ok. Tmcc man, my thoughts are with you and your dad.
I survived Easter. My wife got the brilliant idea of having everybody over for Easter. My side of the family was fairly quiet, but her sister’s side was pretty loud and boisterous. Some people stayed until almost 9 PM. I finally told them they could stay as long as they wanted, but at nine, I was watching “Desperate Housewives”. They got the hint. That is why I took Monday off so we could recuperate. Did get to watch the F-1 race late Sunday night. Spent Monday at a funeral home, going to an INDOT meeting about the new I-74 interchange at Greensburg, and playing indoor soccer. Next week is the last week for that and then we go outdoors. First day back at work and it is nice to relax. I better send the dining car to “Points East”. I hope everyone has a good day.
It is a frosty 21 degrees. Clear skies. Going up to 50 today. With sunshine. Might be a warming trend…
HAPPY BIRTHDAY…TOM ( Spankybird ) [bday]
Today is going to be another busy day. Trying to find another Insurance Company for the home. Prices are terrible.
Hope to spend some time outside, today. Really need to mow the lawn, as soon as it dries out. First cutting is a bummer. Maybe, later, I will spend some time in the train room. I have to get back in the old groove. Plenty of work to do. Need to set up the town. I have a few new ideas.
All aboard for the Dining Car. Breakfast. Been to "Points West ".
