CLOSED////////The Coffee Pot is still on and over 3 years. Here we gather as friends with trains.

Congrats. Chief!!!

Hopefully he’s going to be near enough to see frequently so that you can develope his inherent love of trains, fishing, shooting, et al.

[bday][bday]TOM[bday][bday]

Grampa Chief congrats to you all also

Morning all going to go see my cardiolagist today as been having some pains in chest scince friday. [%-)][:-^]

Will let you know all is fine when I get home

Mornin’ boys. Wow, sure is festive in here today!

Chief - Here, have a cigar on me…yes it’s safe to light…no, don’t save it for later…gee, where’s the trust?

SPANK - [bday]

rtraincollector - take it easy…and, uh, no more waiting 4 days to see a doctor,K…?

Tom [bday]

Chief - [yeah][tup] on the Grandson!

Colin - Sorry to hear about your father - hope he gets well soon.

Rtrain - Hope all goes well with the heart

Had my sleep test last night… did alright. I don’t have Apnea so no CPAP for me! [:D] They did say that my mind is too active and that is what is preventing me from staying in REM. [:(] So I guess there isn’t much they can do. They also recommended air filters for the bed room in the new house because of the cats and allergies… so I guess we’ll have to look into those. I am thinking a new furnace with a two-stage motor (so the air is constantly moving) and an electric whole-house air filter would be the best way to go? Wonder if the health insurance would foot the bill since it is now ‘medically required’?

Have to pay bills and see if I have enough left over to go pickup the stuff at the train shop and still have enough fun money for York… maybe I’ll just pay 1/2 on the trains and then have more for York?

88 - A man who has his priorities—got to like that.[;)] Glad nothing is seriously wrong with you (well physically anyway[(-D]).

[bday] Tom! Hope you have a great day. Congrats to Chief-Grandpa, also! [tup]

88 - glad you don’t have sleep apnea. Have you tried warm milk before bed? It actually helps me when I have trouble sleeping.

rrtrain - hope the visit to the cardiologist goes well. And Colin, hope your dad gets better.

A bit warmer this a.m. in central Alabama. Lunch meeting with a colleague, then driving across town to check on a home where some church members will be doing repairs. Deacons meeting this evening - the good kind! (more about food, fellowship and ministry than fussing [;)] ). Some of you know what I’m talking about. Great bunch of guys.

Have a good day, all!

Morning all,

Beautiful in Southern Ohio, sunny and cool, almost 40 in the shade. The flowers are recovering from the snow and all is looking great. Hopefully look as good as Lisa’s in a few weeks.

Happy Birthday Tom,[bday] I hope you have a grand day and get more fun stuff for your layout to share!

Chief, looking forward to some pics of the newest railfan.

Need to cut the grass again, seems strange to cut grass with a coat on. Another yard I cut is for a friend and his is getting his mower deck back from the shop so the grass is high. Like Chuck says, the first cutting is a bummer.

Buckeye, hope all gets better soon.

Take care

Jim

Good morning from a sunny and cold Chicago where the banners are flying celebrating both Tom’s birthday and the Chief’s grandson. [bday][wow][yeah]

Sorry to hear your dad is still ailing, Colin.

Today is my long day at work with class tonight. I spent a very pleasant evening watching the movie ‘Cars’ with the kids - I always find some new detail to chuckle over - and then working on the layout. I’m using a suggestion I found in an old CTT to rubber-band my track together. It’ll take a while. It is fine with the relatively light things I run on it - but the GG1 flattens it out and pushes it ahead like a bow-wave.

Good Morning from Iowa where winter will not let go, the fun continues as there is a winter storm watch in northern IA for later today. Fortunately for us in the center of the state it’s going to remain in the 40’s & 50’s. Can’t wait for some warmer weather.

Chief–a big congratualations and the new grandson, what a blessing, your life will never be the same and that’s a good thing. If you and your wife ever go shopping together and get separated, just go to the baby department—that’s where she is. Our little granddaughter will celebrate her first birthday next month, it’s been a fabulous year for us.

My train room time has been nearly non existent since January, just very busy but after May 5 I should be able to slow down and relax a lot more, the next time I retire…

How about that new Master’s Champion, wow—once again the north wins! What’s so neat is that he has a sense of humility about him and I think he will retain that. I’m a big baseball fan and I get so fed up with the professional cry babies it just makes me sick. I really enjoyed it when Zach said “I’m just a midwest guy, from Iowa”. It really is that simple.

I have been able to add a few new items to the train room. The first find were these 6 skeleton log cars for my logging operations, they look great with the engine.

While in Cedar Falls this last weekend for Easter I snuck out of the house and went to Caboose Stop Hobby shop and found this beauty, it was the last one and needed a good home, I was forced to bring it back to Adel. Great addition to the stable.

Nice to see your latest acquistions, Jon.

I just bought another Western Hobbycraft trolley - the Chicago Surface Lines model. Here’s a tiny photo:

Doug–

Walt’s trolley’s are just the best. I have one and I’m thinking I’d like to have at least one more. Our layout has a nice trolley section but the next one will be much bigger, folks really enjoy the look and very relaxing.

Jon

Thanks guys…

John, I have tried warm milk and it helps, I like the red wine option a bit more… but I have strange dreams when I go that route! The ENT put me on Ambien for 1 week to help establish a better sleep schedule, and that seems to have helped the most. Been off it for one week now and I am feeling much better and sleeping deeper as well. I think the weight of buying the new house and selling the old house being gone has helped the most… I don’t feel as stressed as I had been…

I’m telling ya though… more trains would really help matters! or more smoke…

88 - You’re not going to make it 'til YORK…already twitchy as a racehorse heading into the starting gate.

Heading out to LA this evening. Still no BIG CHAIR![xx(] Hopefully at the airport. Last regular season game before the playoffs. Looking forward to the days at York to forget about all that is work. Hope everyone is doing OK. If not sorr and feel better. It’s just too hard to go back more than a page to see what I missed.

Hope the grandson is OK Chief!

88 it was quickest I could be seen was sat which I took then the cardiolgist was today soonest available

Now they want me to go next thursday for a nuclear stress test (are they going to nuc me?[:-^])

And then I go back froday for some other pics and all [%-)] time will tell in the mean time I guess just go about normal .

Do have one question for my northern fellows are we sure chief isn’t just a southern want a be as you know he does live in NORTH Carolina not South Carolina?

I think he must of moved there and liked it like me I like the south but I know I’m from the north. But I have my job here keeping an eye on these southern boys and gals (boy do I ever love watching the southern belle’s )

Bill,
My take on your situation is it isn’t THAT bad because if it were you would have been sent the ER… BTW - it was fife who got on ya for now going for 4 days! [;)]

Chief is definitely from the South… no one can fake a Southern accent that good! [:)] He is a nice fellow, but Carey Grant he is not!

Fife - I’m stopping at the LHS today to see if I can talk them into letting me have my engine… [;)]

Hey everyone, get ready, the National Grits Festival is this weekend in Warwick, GA, about a half hour east of me.

This is a photo from the web site. Hope to see y’all there.

Dennis

Dennis, that pic doesn’t do anything for me…let me know when the gals step up…

But that looks like a good use for it as its not eatable
