We have a good chance of frost tonight. I’ve moved everything back into the greenhouse that will fit and covered everything else up. Hope I don’t lose any plants.
Her royal nibs would not eat ‘Grits(oat cakes)’ as they are ‘peasants fare’.
Phew that’s a load off my chest!
Grits not made from oats but from Corn meal[#oops] and are good with cheese[dinner]
Proud to watch and understand english humor(Keeping up apearances,Are you being served, ect.)[:P]
On the price of gas; You should complain! I paid the equivalent of $8.50 for a gallon of unleaded yesterday. And it’s forecast to be $10.00 by the year end (70% is tax).
Only from a country that would require a license for a televison[:-^]
.
Do you know if there are any Combs(Family name) in England?? I am wondering if a Mc or Mac was dropped from the name some where along the line. Moms grandmother used to say she was going back to the old country and many years later we foundout that she was reffering to the indian reservation in Oklahoma [(-D]
I have a Scottish frist name Irish middle name and a German last name, I have a few Native Americans as ancestors and have some Hispanic relatives as well. [:D]
Well just finished bidding on the new hardware for the master bathroom… 2 faucets, shower head and handle, roman tub faucet… all for $368.00 retail for the roman tub faucet was $399.00 at Lowes and Home Depot so I think we got a good deal on the set. Will look MUCH nicer than the low end stuff they have in there now.
Next up is a kitchen faucet, but think I will wait a couple weeks before getting that as I bought two new belt-drive garage door openers at Sears yesterday. Garage is below the master bedroom, so I figure it will be nice to have quiet openers… not that my wife or I are ever asleep when the other gets home, but you never know when we may have guests… not sure if I should sell the old garage door opener or save it for when we build the new garage?
Looks like Buckeye is having fun fishing as he has been quite quiet this weekend… or maybe Chief pushed him out of the boat [:-^], or maybe Laz’s bear did get him [:O]!
I found a site with some pics from Buckeye’s fishing trip. Apparently, they decided to fish using NC “Dynamite”, aka GRITS, and ticked off some locals! But Buckeye was able to subdue the welcoming committee:
Zeke, I use a non metallic cleaner ie. nylon pan scrub with a GP kitchen surface cleaner. Bit messy but you should be OK! You should not get any shorts once track is dry, use a good vac. and stiff brush to remove residual dust.
I also use a RELCO ultrasonic track cleaner backed up with a PECO track (HO) rubber for persistant bad spots.
Our sympathy goes out to those poor souls in Kansas devastated by the storm(s).
I know oat cakes are not really grits but they are the nearest indigestible thing we have and about as useful.
Just looked at the South Manchester phone book, The only Comb listed lives in North Staffordshire in the small town of Biddulph.
Confession! I spent the money for Lionels power supply on Train Sim software, All I need to do to run trains is to sit down in front of ERNI, not quite the same but I get to drive everything from a Great Western 0-6-0 switcher to an AC4400.
Wrapping up last midnight shift. I’m glad because I’m beat.[|)] Can’t seem to take night shift like I use to. Over in the Photo fun I posted pics of the All Aboard panels I wrote of earlier. Hope you enjoy them.
Going to take my Golden Retriever Sue to the Vet to have her put down this morning. Been nursing her health for a couple of months now but she is in pain not so I will put her to rest. Several of you all have had to do the same with pets lately it seems.[:(] Sad but I’m good with the decision.
Buckeye - how was the fishing? were you using doughballs or gritballs? Folks have been slaying the crappies and bluegills at Lake Jackson. Sitting on beds with little jigs.
Off till Friday and hope to get some work done, study and maybe some train running. All take care and may God bless your needs
Saw some pictures of Kansas on Fox News. The people effected are in our thoughts.
Laid out the planned size of our layout on the foundation slab of the gamesroom. To allow for the FIL’s pool table I rotated the layout 90 deg. Which means reducing the length by about 6" or it blocks a doorway. I am thinking of doing a layout redesign and getting a copy of RR track software so I can play around some more. When the 16’ X 8’ was marked on the slab Tammy (wife) said that its a massive layout. Charlie (son, aged 9) said “thats small”. You just can’t win[:)]. However once rotated I notice an area for possible expansion…Im’ thinking motive power depot and turntable.
Bank Holiday here in the UK 11:41 BST and its not rained yet…[:-^]
It is another beautiful, sunny, mild day in SE Indiana with temps currently in the 50s but heading to the 70s. The sun is starting to be up on the drive in, which gets the day off to a nice start. “Desperate Housewives” was good as usual last night. Tomorrow is a day off for state employees in Indiana as it is a primary election day for city and county officials so I might head up to the track to watch practice. Dining car is headed to “Points East”. I hope everyone has a good day.
So sorry, my friend. What was I thinking? I’ve erased the spoiler so others who haven’t seen the episode will not read it. Maybe you could do the same? Still, a good episode for a change. Plenty of stuff to take in! You’re going to love it! [;)]
It is a sunny 38 degrees. A little frost last night. Going up to 78 today, with sun all day.
Today, I have a few errands to run. Will spend some time outside. Yard is looking good, but still needs a lot of work. Grass will need mowing, again, later in the week. Feels good to work outside. Didn’t do much last year.
**Buckeye…**Hope you had a good fishing trip.
**Frank53…**Missed your pictures yesterday.
Well, Dining Car is here. All aboard for breakfast.
[#ditto] This is what happens when you have to read 200 posts to get caught up… forget some of the import things.
Doug,
The wife and I were sorry to hear about your loss, you and your family are in our prayers.
Jim,
Sorry to hear about your dog. It is a tough decision, but in the end making them suffer longer than they should is the wrong decision… you are making the right one… you and your family will be in our prayers too…
