I think you got a nice cocktail of drugs , I usually get demerol and versed, trouble is I do remember it AND usually giving the doctor performing the procedure advice while he’s doing it . They like to keep you at the hospital until the drugs wear off a bit but for a while the deputy from the emergency room would handcuff me to the bed because I went to get a soda one time… I walked home …I didn’t remember that I brought my car …

Good evening.

Yesterday evening I went to see Gordon Lightfoot with my parents. His voice certainly is not as strong as it used to be. However, considering that just a few years ago he was close to death, I think he’s doing pretty good. The concert was sold out and it was excellent. I would have to say that my favorite Gordon Lightfoot songs are “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald” and “If you Could Read my Mind”. Just teriffic music.

Not much else happening. Hope everyone has a good evening!

Randy, that story is so FUNNY!! I can see in my mind’s eye, somebody doing that!! Next time you have it done, tell them to give you something else, so they won’t have to handcuff you to the bed!![;)][(-D] Got any more funny stories like that?!?!

Willy, you and your folks are extremely fortunate to have been able to see Gordon Lightfoot and his band perform in Omaha. I am envious of you! I have been listening to Gordon’s music since I was in high school (I graduated in 1974), and I can tell you right now that there are very few musicians who can even hold a candle to this gentleman’s talent. I have acquired most of Lightfoot’s albums down through the years, and I may have all of them except for maybe a couple of his very earliest. In 1979 I went to Calgary, Alberta, Canada for a convention with the National Model Railroad Association, and I was motivated in part to make that trip by the music of Gordon Lightfoot. If it were not for Gordon Lightfoot, I may never have gone up into Canada and I may never have developed such a strong interest in the Canadian Pacific Railway.

To the best of my knowledge, Lightfoot has never performed up here in Sioux Falls, and so I am trying to get the Washington Pavilion here in downtown Sioux Falls to bring him into town for a couple concerts. How long Gordon Lightfoot will be able to continue performing, God only knows. Lightfoot will be 69 years old on the 17th of November, and I have a Canadian flag which I plan to fly on his birthday!

So what trains go by round here? [:-^]

And I just started hash browns. (not from frozen ). Biscuits and gravy coming right up.

It smells great.

Good Sunday morning, everyone. Joe and Bob, thank you so very much for getting breakfast ready this morning! I just can’t seem to get going this morning. Feeling a little bit under the weather this morning, for some strange reason. Just hit me, all at once. Think it’s sinus drainage. But I will get through the day!!

For our Sunday Dinner, at around 1 p.m EDT, you will have your choices of:

  1. Fried Chicken w/mashed taters, gravy, homemade buttermilk biscuits, green beans, corn on the cob, cole slaw.

  2. Meat loaf, green beans w/onions and potatoes cooked together, corn on the cob and creamed corn.

  3. Pork chop abracadadbra w/your choice of potatoes, savory herb stuffing, broccoli w/cheese sauce and garden salad.

Everyone have a great day, and enjoy the trains, or whatever else you decide to do today!

I am definitely coming over for this one! [dinner]

By the way, shouldn’t we be getting the supplies ready for the big Fourth of July barbecue here at the diner? [:D]

Good Morning!

It’s a very beautiful morning here in Omaha. It looks like it’s going to get hot again for July 4th, though.

Did some train watching yesterday. I saw four trains, but there was nothing special about any of those trains. Just coal and grain.

Well, I think I’ll go investigate what’s happening in the rest of the forum. TTFN.

CW do you have plenty for some csx railroaders?dispatcher told them to get a coffee at hicksville because garrett is clogged again.I will take a #1 for supper tonight.got to go back to work.

Joe, already got plates made for you and Lance, to take to work tonight!! And, you know me: there’s plenty of everything for everyone!

And yes, I have enough hamburger, steaks, pork chops, country style ribs, chicken, corn on the cob, and everything else we’ll need for our 4TH OF JULY/INDEPENDENCE DAY PICNIC!! Everybody will probably be sick of the fare, by the time Friday night rolls around.[;)][:P]
