Have You Found Any Good Goodies For Yourself Lately

A little late this year which needs no elaboration. But it looks like our new friends Craig & the MR Team have an appreciated handle on things this year.

The spirit of giving is giving, and thats comming up rather quick. A year goes by pretty fast. With that said, lately is 2024.

Have You Found Any Good Goodies For Youself Lately?

I’ll start.

A DWP darn near jumped off the display with an adrenaline rush to go with it. Duluth Winnipeg & Pacific…Delivered With Pride.

Whatcha got?

I did. I recently received 5 ScaleTrains D&RGW GP40’s and 2 ScaleTrains WP GP40’s.

I did too. I recently purchased two Scale Trains SD40 dash 2 (mid-1970s).

Good morning

Dang!! Sounds like you dug deep in that pocket of yours with those five Geeps Rio, …Nice!

And Bryan, Liking those Green Machine’s man. On the top of the list of my favorite loco’s are SD40-2’s, and purchased three Kato’s this year myself.

Also in response to both of you, Scale Trains AKA (Rivet Counter) is most certainly recognized as the Elite of prototypical model detailing manufacturers. I’ve finally stepped up to the plate and purchased two last year, (Ouch!)

Thanks for posting.

Howdy

Here’s one of the two Scale Trains.

Nothing about my layout is Union Pacific but these turbines are just way too cool.

UP GTEL 8500 Horsepower Tubine.

Check it out, grab irons in N scale.

The early Union Pacific turbines were banned from City Limits because they were too loud. The crew had to wear ear protection. Shortly after these Monsters were manufactured, the earlier one’s had to have the horns moved to the back of the locomotive, as the horn volume overpowering the engine roar was, (again) just too darn loud. The later one’s were standard with that feature.

Gotta run, I’ll post the cooler one of the two later. Perhaps after someone else. Id hate to be too much of a post hog this close to Christmas😳

Thanks for looking.

This little 0.6.0 locomotive fits in with my timeframe of being built during WW1.

Hi David
I’ve always admired those British Railway six wheel steam switchers across the pond, as they have a lot of character. I’ve had my eye on a few on e-bay, and thinking about getting a couple for my upper two line mining horseshoe.

Maybe not prototypical to the rest of the layout, but I’ve let go of that in some areas of the hobby, not to ruin the fun.

Thanks for posting.

The thread had a good run for three years. Sometimes good things come to an end.
Either no one bought themselves anything lately, or perhaps ran out of disposable money.
Maybe no choo choo’s for Christmas either🤣

Can’t run a thread upon that.

Lock this thread up please. There’s no reason to babysit a dead horse.

I thought I was done buying coal cars, but I could not pass up this old Weaver O Scale hopper at the Lansing (Michigan) Train Show last month. I also picked up a copy of Colorado Rail Annual No. 12 “The South Park Line” c.1974.

Haha! Just got home from the LHS with a Rapido HO scale GP38 decorated for the Aberdeen, Carolina & Western Ry. It’s on the programming track as I type this post.

During the past year, I sold a lot of surplus engines and rolling stock and raised enough funds to cover most of the cost of the following purchased this fall and up to the present:

9 - ScaleTrains N SD40T-2’s (6 D&RGW and 3 SP) six are dcc/sound

5 - Atlas N SD45’s all dcc/sound 2 D&RGW and 3 SP (with SP light package!_

5 - ScaleTrains HO SD45s D&RGW dcc/sound

6 - ScaleTrains HO GP40’s D&RGW, 4 dcc/sound, 2 dcc ready

2 - ScaleTrains HO GP40 WP, one dcc/sound one dcc ready

1 - Genesis HO GP40-2 WP dcc ready

1 - Atlas HO U23B WP dcc ready

But keep in mind I sold off a lot of surplus engines and rolling stock all NIB and raised over $4 thousand so that covered most of the cost of the above.

ScaleTrains has more HO SD40T-2 due late January I have some funds socked away to cover 3/4 of the cost.

Those Turbines are very nice and tempting. I already have so much I’m selling trains to thin some of the heard.

I know I have far too much rolling stock, but if I parted with any I would miss it.

Quite the stack Rio. I’m in the same boat, with once was a roster, has become a conglomerate of compulsive disorder

Jeff and Mike, that know me by name as soon as they see me at my favorite bi-annual train show, sell me basically brand new Kato, and Broadway Limited loco’s for half price. They have both laughed and said, "in ten years, I’ll have a table rented right next to theirs trying to catch up with what they’re doing

They’re probably right :slightly_smiling_face:

Da utter one.

I’m liking Old School Union Pacific :+1:
You gotta pull around an extra big drink of water for this Beast!

I’m sure she sees those new Goodies with a giant smile on her face, considering them hers. And knowing You, why wouldn’t they be?
