March 2020 Coffee Pot. 15 years old. Bacon and Country Ham to smell up the kitchen. Some Eggs and Hot Coffee.

April 1 will be 16 years. Starting early as had busy day. May reclinerize later.

Stay warm.

Welcome to March, goodbye winter. No matter what happens this month winter is behind us. Still recovering from Strep Throat. I don’t think this old body is responding like it use to

Hello all!

“Goodbye to winter?” I don’t know man, I’m from New Jersey. We didn’t stop worrying about winter and snow until the first of May!

Ask me about getting caught in a snowstorm the second week of Jersey trout season in April! There’s a tale…

Well I live in Mi. of course there are storms but in two days they are history and gone.

Kinda jumped the gun with the new thread.

Evening folks!

Early start to the 'pot this month. A beaut of a day today. 70. Sunny. Very windy. Same for tomorrow.

Changed out all 3 shower heads today. Found a Moen we liked. The old ones were getting hard to clean. Had to slice through the fitting on one with a side grinder. Only nicked the threads on the pipe a bit. The fitting was so calcium caked internally it would not loosen, even with some vinegar soak.

Happy March SJ!

Ugh - daylight savings time coming soon…

Good evening all,

Perfectly awful practice today. Only did 10 miles in a little under 3 hours. Just could not get going. Should have gone to Muncie train show instead. I hope everyone has a good day.

Morning all

Ahh the month of March, the begining of Spring for me. ( S.C. ) 28* outside right now but from what I can see it will be in the 60’s to very low 70’s for the rest of the week for highs and mid 40’s to mid 50’s for lows.

Winter is done!!! [:(] But March just came in like a lamb. [:O]

Attended the Mt. Hope Train and Toy Show yesterday. An overwhelming amount of HO and N. I saw very little Williams, which was a surprise. The Amish community turned out strong. With the use of solar power, they were buying HO locomotives. I overheard one Amishman and a vendor discussing LED lighting for his buggy. [:^)]

Have a good week.

Yeah Bucks, from what I’ve been seeing at the shows I go to the Williams stuff seems to be disappearing, both the new products and definately the vintage.

Quite a change from ten years ago when I’d go to a Greenberg show and there’d be exhibitors there with “walls” of Williams. Sad.

I did luck into a Williams Baldwin “Shark” set in B&O markings back in February. I wasn’t looking for something like that but there it was, the price was more than right, and “Sharks” just look so cool! Wired the motors in series so I don’t have that Williams diesel rocket effect, and the unit’s perfection itself.

“Baldwin Sharks,doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo, Baldwin Sharks,doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo…”

Sorry…

Hen party arriving. Out the door. 60 and sunny.

Howdy all!

Had a nice roaring fire going last night, think we’ll have one tonight as the weather looks pretty warm through the next 2 weeks. Winter sure petered out this year, didn’t it.

Was up earlier, no one else was up, so did one of my chores which has been lingering for months: cleaning out the coffee grinder. Basically involves cleaning out the chute from the gears, removing the top gear and cleaning it, then shaking out the coffee grounds (as much as possible) which have gotten into the interior of the unit. They come out by the hole for the cord. Then I wash all the removable parts and let them air dry. Of course, just a few minutes ago, the MIL comes up and starts washing stuff (she has a compulsive habit to do this) and putting the wet things on top of my drying parts. Ugh! Anyway, got out about 5 scoops of coffee from everything, so what the hell, made a full pot of coffee off of that.

Gotta drop Linda off at work - taking Corey with me so he can stop at the pet store. We just set up a smaller tank upstairs, he needs to clean it out, get the operating pieces for it, then we’ll stock it with fish. That’ll make 3 operating fish tanks - the 36 gallon one close by my desk, the 3.5 gallon one he has in his room, and this one which is either 16 or 20 gallons. He’s very into this, which is good as he’s taken on the responsibility for caring for them.

Also going to take down the train boards today. Run 'em one last time, then reclaim our living room.

Another item on the agenda today is refilling propane tanks. My big grill crapped out in November, after 21-22 years. We still have yet to replace it, so I’ve been using my tailgate grill which runs off of those ~1 pound green propane cylinders. Not only is that an expensive way to buy propane, but they run out quickly. So after watching a few YouTube videos, I bought an adapter for my 20 pound tank and got it filled yesterday. Going to try that out today for refilling the 1 p

Good morning all,

Watched some more Hill Street. Did very little else. I hope everyone has a good day.

50 and sunny. That is until the normal rain starts this afternoon. Then Tuesday and Wednesday. Better than snow.

Read to elementary school kids this afternoon.

Go to FIL’s and pickup 5 V tin and lumber. Take to farm soon.

Enjoy the week.

Chief - I’d give anything to be in that classroom today.

Mornin’ all!

So we had 2 nights with a roaring fire going in the evening: that could be it for the season given how unseasonably warm it’s supposed to be. Gonna be 50’s and up for the next 2 weeks.

I don’t know, learning to read from chief…

So the trains are all put away and the train boards are outta the living room. Corey and I finished that up early last night; still need to rearrange the living room and move some chairs in from the dining room. But I did hook up the DJ system, so I can once again annoy the neighbors. One of my goals is to be able to get all my CD cases out of the basement and arranged efficiently in the living room so I have access to all my music.

Yesterday was a productive day. In addition to the trains, we trimmed the ornamental grasses that Corey and I planted in the front bed. Been waiting to do that until the time was right:

We also used that adapter and filled 3 propane cylinders from the 20 gallon tank. I had one on the grill outside which was empty, plus 2 other empties that were in the freezer. The videos we watched had recommended the latter, and they were right. The one from the grill only took about 8 ounces of propane (yes, I was measuring the weight on a kitchen scale), but the 2 from the freezer took just a hair over a pound. I had 3 other empties in the garage, so I put them in the freezer and will try to fill them later in the week.

Drove the SS in again today, the steering on the Mercury is not feeling right, so time to get it into my man Angelo to see what’s going on. The car badly needs a tune up anyway, so it’s time.

Have a good one!

Was 60 yesterday and 50 today, March came in nice so who knows how it will leave us. The Robbins showed up yesterdat as well. Was nice to do things ourside.
