Re: COFFEE POT #11 [September], for all to take a drink and chat. Welcome all posters. 4 yrs old and still going.

Good Evening

70s today

Just had a chat with Brutus and RT all is well.

Banilla and root beer ready for the Tardis ride…S.J.

Hello September pot. I had to go back to the August pot to find out what the fat cat suit was all about. Looks good Chief.

It was a beautiful day here, 49 degrees on the back porch this morning.

Had a nice chat with Don B. last evening. I think we solved most of the countries problems, except the fact that Pennsylvania is still without a budget! [banghead]

Sunny and high 70’s here today. Took a stroll behind the lawn mower.

Brutus, Steve - great news!

Chief - I suppose all that will be left of you in your next picutre will be a smile.

I’m planning on spending a little while on my friend’s Marx. I’ll clean it up, run it a bit, then send it back to its home. Think I’ll put one of my Lionel tenders behind it so I can give it some proper exercise too.

The one of my presses was just going into changeover into one of the new part numbers. Fourth or fifth time in the press. I’ve babysat enough set ups to know it will probably be OK. Time to let afternoon shift figure that out for themselves. So far, so good. The phone has not rung…

Later.

Evenin’ boys. Evenin’ Yosemite. Almost too tired to post after painting all day…almost…

Heeeeaaaaarrrrr Kit-ty Kit-ty Kit-ty…[dinner]

In forty years of working in constuction, today was a first. We dug up 60’ of a lateral sewer that was laid backwards. Yep, they were trying to get the water to flow uphill. What a mess!

Mowed the lawn tonight. This is the first year in 20 that we have not had to water the lawn. We have had rain and cool weather all summer.

Good evening everyone! Hope everyone is doing well. Long day at work as had a number of cases and an emergency that added a bit of excitement. Also, went out for sushi with the team and one of the manufacturer reps. Some new equipment we are looking at to make things a little better. Our numbers are at the top of the list for the country, but it is important to be on top of things.

Ray, the C-Pap is for folks with sleep apnea. Essentially, it blows the air down the airway. While numbers vary from study to study, they all seem to indicate that sleep apnea (cessation of breathing while asleep), is directly linked with several cardiac related diseases and sudden death. Not to scare anyone, just if you have a history of apnea, it is worth getting a sleep study done. I failed mine, so now I too wear a mask and had to have a second study done to verify the workings of the mask. I had over 300 times where I stopped breathing in the first study. This also leads to very restless sleep, so for some folks who always wake up tired, this could also be an issue.

Have a great night everyone.
God Bless,
Dennis

Howdy folks! Well, today we had a little going away luncheon for a co-worker. His wife works as a civilian for the Army and got a job in Germany, so Tom is going to be living there for 5 years! How cool! I would love to do something like that!

Talked early with RT and SJ. Tardis is ready, so let’s get the fun rolling, lol!

Par for Ohio

Missed chat with the guys tonite. Looked for them…but the radar screen was blank.

SJ- I took another look at those Challengers at WB’s on my way home from the office. Very Nice!

Completed some scenery work on the layout…however my sister has taken my camera hostage to film the arrival of my niece…suppose that is a good reason [:)]

Evening Everyone !!

Major accomplishment (for me), finally got the computer system working here. Came home Saturday night, and no internet, no phone, but the cable TV was working. Started working the phone issue, reset the modem to the house, no luck. Spent a good 2 hours on phone with technical support. (Cell phone, until the battery died, during the call.) There solution was to send some one out on Wednesday. (tomorrow). Didn’t confirm the appointment, and havn’t heard anything from them since. Anyway, I continued working with the phones, disconnected them 1 by 1. Until get to Chris’ phone. I couldn’t find it. So disconnected the base, WHALA !! The phones start working again. (His phone was under his bed, with a box on it, holding the line open. [banghead]

So Sunday night trying to get Net up and running. Another hour with technical support, they start walking me through 1 step at a time. Disconnect all the computers in the house (4), then they do a reset from the office on the modem, and manage to get 1 computer to work on the modem. Then say thank you very much, and if you have any problem, don’t call us. Now the Router is disconnected and nothing else works. Go to their TS, another 1 hour +, and do a router reset. No go, finally decide to call it a day until Monday. Monday, same thing, only this time they want me to download a firmware upgrade, and install it on the disconnected modem. Obviously, that didn’t work. Tonight got a good tech guy, (girl actually), first question she asked was what is the version of firmware on the router. She shows me how to find it, then says That’s the Problem. So we upgrade the firmare, reboot, and everything is back!! I don’t understand how the firmware can just become out of date, overnight. It was working fine Friday, then dead on Saturday. Unless the ISP, did a bl

Took the weekend off from the computer and had to catch up on like 10 pages! Back here at the telescope again for another 4 days. So far so good. Still having some of my “phases”, but overall seem to be doing better. Really seems like the acid reflux thing now. Studying up for the diabetic education class. I can now eat two pieces of bread (an actual sandwich) w/o the numbers going too high.

Fife - Mars is up in the morning in Gemini. It is coming into opposition (getting closer) in January. Had to look that one up after taking most of the summer off:)

Laz - awesome summer! MTH makes a docksider? Is it an 0-4-0?

RT - glad to hear they found something out w/ the sleep study. Hope they get you set up.

Brutus - more good news! When I hear the news of the successful operation I’m going to spin the telescope 360.

Looks like replacement bearings are available. The subflector project may be game on. This close to start up it could be interesting. Should be a fun month and a half or so. Fellow telescope operator got a bid accepted for a house, a first for him. I was talking to him tonight and he was pretty excited. Wish the van was running so I could help him move. MG first, MG first…

Hope everyone is having a good week

Bob

HI GYZ,

Stay frosty.

After reading of Buckeye’s plight yesterday I thought for sure he was working in Roseyville, silly me, they don’t have seweres in Roseyville [:P]

Good morning all,

IIABSDISEI with temps again in the 70s. Ideal weather here. Practiced with “my” soccer girls last night. Some of the kids were either sick or nursing various ailments so when it came time to scrimmage, I was playing right fullback. The sweeper (who runs the defense) asked me as I trotted onto the field if I could take orders from a woman and I said she forgot I was married  After that was over, I went to the YMCA and did weights (no need for track work). Watched some of “America’s Got Talent”. I had the regular fare on the dining car for breakfast before sending it to “Points East”. Beacon is lit. I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Good one Jon…

Took down our 10’ inflatable pool yesterday. It’s all drying out and getting ready to be put away for the year. Those things work pretty well for as cheap as they are.

3 more days until college football season starts. It makes it more fun to run my MTH Buckeye Express…

Brent, you gotta go to York…at least drive up for dinner if nothing else.

Wes

Mornin’ Fellas.

Wes - I will definitely make it up for dinner. I am hoping to be able to at least make it up for the afternoon on Friday. Since the sunroom project has been going on I haven’t had much time to get into the train room so all those projects down there are still waiting to get started - and many of them I already have the materials to complete them… [banghead]

Mornin’ boys. Sunny & pleasant her ein the Mid-Atlantic region. Still on my “working” vacation. Perhaps go out on the bay after dinner to watch the Wednesday night sailboat races. We’ll see.

88 - I’m kinda in the same boat for YORK. More likely to be there on Saturday, but will have to play things by ear.

Wes - I can’t wait to see the 12 foot ring of dead earth under our pool…[V]

Buckeye - Ponder this — if Robin Meade had been around in 1849, there would have been no gold rush…[:P]

Morning all. Glad Shake and Bake is back in the game. Speaking of games, Wes, does Ohio have a football team??? [(-D] Rat suit! That is a perfect “fit” for Mr. Buckeye. Might fit for the over the hill horn blower in Ioway. No, a donkey’s [can’t use the real name on this forum] suit as all he does is eat CORN. Now that I have taken care of all of my “friends”. [}:)] [(-D]

Sure is nice and cool in NC. Can tell fall is around the corner. Well, coffee time. Chat later.

Chief - That’s like asking if they still play basketball in North Carolina, somewhere…

Morning all!

Steve: Best of luck with the job search.

Brutus: Prayers for your Bride.

Park with the girls today. Finished chores yesterday, so I can goof off today!
