WOW !!! This great stuff , exciting . Better than the Great train chase movie.
I just ran out of page two . I wont’ be able to sleep tonight for a while, hoping they dont’ become roll off freight on a curve . Thanks to every one who has tracked them today and this evening. The Pipeline is really great. Cannonball.
Thanks guys for helping to trace them. [:D]
Isn’t it amazing, they spend so much time no where, now suddenly since about noon today have gone from south of Ft. Worth, Texas, to Arkansas City, Kansas.
South of Ft. Worth . . . Noon the 23rd
Ponca City, Oklahoma . . . 5:45 pm
Arkansas City, Kansas . . . 6:30 pm

Keep up the good work. [:)]
MISSING MISSING MISSING
chinese locos arrive on train in ark city now they are on different train?
missing h hougal9 21 brought the engines into ark city now they are no longer on that train, well gotta get some sleep, see what I can find this afternoon.
I will ask this again,if anyone has seen them…Are they tarpped or not? If no one has taken pics they must be…
For almost one week they just vanished. No one could find them. Then suddenly they started showing up on traces.
The first day or so they made very slow progress. Then yesterday they really picked up the pace and made some really good time going from below Ft. Worth, Texas, all the way to Arkansas City, Kansas.
I don’t think any of our forum members have seen them while on this trip. I am sure if they had they would have posted about them.
I don’t think they were under tarps. They were not in any of Ed’s photos. But it is possible that they did tarp them.
When that train gets to Kansas City, surely someone will see them and get a photo or two.
Right now, we just need a good trace to see where they are.
No, I saw some pictures on RP.net of them on the train without tarps.
I am in KC with a digital camera but need good trace info. Will fly night or day but need acurate verifiable location. [tup] [yeah]
I went out tonight and checked the visible parts of Argentine and both North Kansas City yards to no avail. Hopefully it will come through tomorrow and not during the night tonight.
Try this link. They were caught in Texas. [:D]
Thanks SPBed for the link.
Now we know they are NOT covered.
We also know they were on the very front of the train.
But the last traces from late last night still show them in Arkansas City, Kansas. [:(!]
I don’t know what the deal is. Hopefully some of our BNSF guys can fill us in.
Your welcome [:D]
The traces within the last day or so show the steam engines as arriving at Arkansas City, Kansas last Friday evening.
Since then the traces all show it there.
If anyone gets an updated trace please post and let us know.
THANKS

Great shots of train inTexas . Lot of effort put forth by SSW . Lead engine #838 looks like shrapnel hits on rt. frt. side, guess – just camera angle and reflection . But still all together . Looking in the Pipeline for more progress of events. Have any kind of evening you folks want . Cannonball.
Pardon my ignorance, but I assume that the engines were on the move again as of 1431 today. Can anyone else out there tell us as to the specific routing to Silvis:
- ATSF transcon from KC to Galesburg
- CB&Q route from KC to Galesburg (via Brookfield, West Quincy, etc)
- Estimated time of departure from KC?
Regards,
Burlington John
They arrived in Kansas City, Kansas at 7:20 pm
It looks like they arrived on HDYTGA. The GA may be Galesburg, but I am not sure what the DYT was.
So you guys in Kansas City, we are depending on you now for more shots and info. [;)]
Keep us updated. [:)]
THANKS [:D]
Where in KC? BNSF argintine or NKC,MO. We have multiple BNSF yards.
Hmmmm. Just returned from a grass fire call and heard an eastbound through Palmyra Missouri … couldn’t help but wonder what if …
Thanks to all for keeping us posted!
Regards,
Burlington John
I wish I could tell you but I don’t know. [B)]
We need some of our BNSF people to help us out.
We also need a new trace to see if they are still there or on the move again.
