2008 [PART 2] and the Coffee Pot is still on and now 4 years old. Here we gather as friends with trains. Sweet ice tea too.

Fifedog…

I have a sheriffs deputy that lives across the road from me and a state trooper that lives next door…the sheriffs deputy has a Magnum…K-9 Unit… the troopers have chargers… I went out on a ride along with the deputy…they have you fill out a form stating they are not responsable if…type of form…they check your criminal record and then you can ride with em… do yall got something like that up there?

Then I guess you look at all the license plates going down the road and pull over all the ones north of MERRYLAND?[;)]

Morning all; raining lightly today -first time in weeks and weeks. Stressful eve last night walking through life with our middle boy who walked off the football practice field in a snit. Basically, through hours of talking, I told him we finish what we start and to apologize and get back out there today.

Mike C, same day Lucas is going to IU, Ben is going to kindergarten. Yellow rain slicker, ‘Thomas’ backpack taller than he is, big grin. You probably remember…

For the first time ever, the bride and I had a few hours together with all kids in school. So what do we do… go to Wal-Mart. LOL.

Brutus, happy 14 to you and your bride! Sir J can pick me up on the way to your house and we’ll get that drywall up in a jiffy. That airship model sounds cool - and expensive. I have the Revell model I’ve customized hovering over Baker Field. Great news about your uncle.

Fife, our local PD loves their Crown Vics, though the neighboring departments are all getting Chargers. I am fortunate, during my adventures involving wayward teens of last year, to have ridden in the in the front seat… Black Diamond, we have a sort of Citizen’s Police Academy where you can ride along… Last month’s advisory was to turn off the engine when idling to save fuel…

Ran trolleys and Thomas last night. Have to clean track…

New Town Hall, new office and new computer. [^] Going home to recoup from this cold.

Our eldest starts Pre-school on Tuesday…Orientation tonight.

Doug: Bride and I do the same thing…usually looking for things for the kids.

Another hobby shop bit the dust, Athens Hobby, here in Athens, Ga. Though for the past few years they weren’t much more than a toy store, at one time they were heavy into HO, some O and G, but were a good source for paints and scratch building materials.

Thanks for the prayers. Done deal. [bow] Close 18th of Sept. Now to stop sweating and coughing. Later.

Evenin’ boys. Rain & mild here in the Mid-Atlantic region.

CSXect - Rich was correct about the rotors. The Chargers are fabulous for dem hiway patrols, but the constant stopping and going in urban/suburban areas apparently wreaks havoc on the brakes. Dodge is going after the law enforcement market full-tilt boogie, and judging from all the Chargers, and now Challengers just sitting on new car lots, I understand why. And,YES, I do get jealous!

Black Diamond - Yep, we’ve got ride-along programs.

cnw1995 - There’s nothing wrong with the Crown Vic, other than it can be a boat at times. Ford now makes it exclusively for PD’s, and we’ll probably keep buying them to help them out of their hole, much like we did with the Diplomats and Iacocca back in the 80’s.

Chief - thank you for the kind thought. Oh, about the driver training, we tend to save that for those that wrinkle fenders. Our fleet is mainly rear-wheel drive. I think for its size, the IMPALA is the ideal car for today’s force.

Law Enforcement Officers have always been my heros. I know that is why Frankie wanted to be one so bad.

On the meds. Can hardly stay awake. Think I will down a bowl of soup [you thought I was going to say GRITS]. Waiting to see if we get the rain. Turned real warm and HUMID.

Evenin’ Fellas.

Not much going on… except work…work…work. Got the front brakes replaced - thanks Rich - the rear calipers gave me some problems so going to have my mechanic do them tomorrow.

Fife - Other than thinning out the fleet, nope. Have to remove the Legacy Base, package it up, and ship it off to Lionel. On the other subject… nope… last month was a no-go… no word yet this month.

As for Chargers and Magnums… seems they have a parking problem too. Have two co-workers that own them and neither can seem to get them inside the parking space lines…

Took SusieQ to see Mindi Abair last night at Ram’s Head Live in Annapolis. Good show… really miss the local jazz channels… liked having jazz to listen to in the car on the way to and from work… kept me ‘relaxed’ now all I have is Country and Rock… country gets old and rock tends to result in lots of frustration… or is that the fact that now that school is back in session that all the poor drivers are back on the roads? Last three days have been terrible… accident here, traffic jam there, bridge construction over there… [banghead]

88 - You two are in our thoughts. Keep on keepin’ on.[tup] And I figured the drive was sapping you some. Perhaps an upgrade into Sirius radio is in your future…I certainly enjoy channel 981 on DISH…ahhhhhh… Are you going to YORK?

***Remember: Registration must be postmarked by September 12.

Roger;

I sent you a PM.

GOOD EVENING,

Finished CTT today, two real good issues in a row with classic trains again at last. Old memories with Frank Ellison,I remember when he wrote magazine articles. It was good to see some of his buildings again. Me I worked a while on the last item of my buy, old 027 switches, rewired and ready to go. Oh and I still have a track section to rewire. forgot about that. we had gloomy all day but no rain, we may get some overnite but who knows. That covers my day so Brutus fire up the thingy and lets go…S.J.

Brent,

Do what Fife says and get Sirius. I just installed it in the Sunfire tonight, and I couldn’t be happier. I got a great deal on a Streamer receiver and docking kit on ebay. I am never going back to regular radio!

Got home, tired, off to bed. Did want to check in and see how everyone is doing. Chief, hope you get to feeling better soon. We are leaving early tomorrow afternoon for the movie showing in Atlanta. I doubt I will get to check in till maybe Sunday after church. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

God Bless,

Dennis

Warm and humid in St. Louis. Mike C - forgot to comment about your son, glad he’s in school and hope he does well! Got home and mowed the yard - did the whole thing and knee didn’t pop or grind, so it’s a lot better, thank God. Need to get more exercise, I can tell I’ve been taking it easy for a while now [:(]

Sir James, I have some leftover cake from a party at work to bring, you’ve got banilla, all we need is rootbeer! I’ll be over in a few minutes, okay? [(-D]

Buckeye and I are still going to York…I think…we need to finalize.

So I am getting both knees scoped to clean up some torn miniscus, and some other stuff while he is in there. Nothing reconstructive. Does anyone know how long before I will be able to stand and walk on them after the scope? I’m sure it’s different for everyone.

Tomorrow is my 10 year anniversary. Not bad for a 31 year old…

Have a good one,
Wes

Good luck on the surgery, Wes - and Happy Anniversary!

'appy Anniversay, Wes. Good luck with the knee.

Brutus, beacon is on! Come and get me outta here.

I don’t think I will ever pay for radio [;)]

Cloudy and light rain off and on all day long, but not enough to measure.

It’s been a busy one, and another one tomorrow. My new emergency generator is to be delivered tomorrow, next will have to get my Propane supplier to do his thing.

Got word from a LHS that I new switcher that I ordered is in. Maybe find time to pick it up next week. They already checked it out on the test track. Sorry Don!

Haven’t found any time to work on the dollhouse last two days, maybe Saturday.
