2008 [PART 2] and the Coffee Pot is still on and now 4 years old. Here we gather as friends with trains. Sweet ice tea too.

beacon is on - though I’ll sit in the far corner since I think I gotta big cold. Ugh.

Jack, I think we have the highest gas taxes in the country. Now at $4.12 - no reason. Sigh.

Great ‘minds-eye’ image of Lucky playing!

Doug, when we remodeled our kitchen, Jean and I could not agree on gas or electric range so we got one of each, dealer thought we were nuts, but boy does that come in handy for big family meals.

The Starlite Diner is just after you turn on to 30 East from Rt 74, I think it is the first light, but not sure. Just keep an eye out on the right side and you can’t miss it.

Why??? I know there must be a reason why.

Mayorial duties are tiring. Sitting in meetings, fighting the biggies for your people and listening and handling complaints.

Off to bed. Good night. Sleep tight and don’t let the bed bugs bite.

My TCA 2008 Conventin Car was delivered today.

As you can see it was shipped by flatcar in order to keep the wheels from showing any wear and decreasing it’s collector value. Here the crane is just about to lift it off of the flat.

And this is the after picture as it has been set down on the other siding so that the B6 switcher can pull it away for safe storage.

The legal department would not allow any pictures of the actual movement, in case of any embarrassing happenings.

John, If I have my way it will be a big gas fired cook top w/grill and an electric double oven wall unit. Gas, IMHO, is the best for stove top cooking and electric is better for the oven. Better temp control in their respective applications. For our family functions, not quite as casual as Bunco, I’ve supplemented the oven by using a countertop rotisserie. A pork loin with a good glaze on the rotisserie ranks up there pretty high

Doug, Never tried Pork loin on the rotisserie. Pork lion is one of our favorites, often do it for Thanksgiving as there are not a lot of turkey lovers in our family. Do you precook it at all or do it from raw on the rotisserie? If so, about how long?

Evening all!

Fifer - you carrying a toupe around and does it get disappointed when you let your hair down?[{(-_-)}]

Chief - those must not be real fire ants you are dealing with. Nothing kills them here. Lake house? What’s this about a lake house? You become mayor of Rosyville and all of a sudden there are funds for a lake house AND trains? Is anyone watching the Rosyville books? I smell scandal in Nawth Carolina! [:O]

Doug - no fall here but moderate temps with cool fronts dropping a bit of rain - and here comes Ike for the weekend. The way they are acting here is silly. I think folks are evacuating to Ft Worth (or as we say Fawt Wawth).

Jack - what contractors? What fire ants? Bwa Ha Ha Ha HA!

John - we grill butterflyed pork chops often - excellent! I need to get a rotisserie for my grill.

Brent - Starlight is a great diner with a nice atmosphere and good service. Been eating there for years. Like it better than Round the Clock diner at 30 and I84. Here is a map. The diner is where the PA Keystone is on the map.

http://www.visitpa.com/visitpa/tripgenViewMap.pa?transaction=locMap&template=map&recordId=77271&attractionId=77271&name=Starlite+Diner

We have started making arrangements for the trip so things are looking good.

Cool front came through today and a bit more rain.

John, Generally on the holidays I’ll do both a turkey, creature of habit I guess, and a pork loin. No precooking, sometimes I’ll use just salt & pepper & garlic but one of my favorites is a cranberry glaze. If memory serves the last one was about a four/five pounder and took about 2 to 3 hrs. It’s a Farberware rotisserie that we’ve had for what seems like forever. It’s good for this type of cooking but for grilling it just don’t get hot enuff.

Morning!

Great day at the Zoo yesterday! Colder weather is much better for the animals, as they are up and moving around…

Hippos were out and about swimming and playing, Sloth Bear very animated. 3-1/2 yo is studying caterpilers at school and watching as they will form crysallis and transform into butterflies…We saw the butterfly exhibit at the zoo. Hope I didn’t spoil the superise…

Good Morning from Blueberryhill…

It is a cool and sunny 49 degrees. Going up to 82 today with sunshine.

Today is a busy day. I have all the mowing to do. This will take about 5 hours. Need to get it all done today, as it is suppose to rain tomorrow. Good day for it. No train time in sight. Maybe this weekend.

Gas prices jumped back up by 20 cents. Now they are at $3.69. Some guy on an oil rig must have sneezed.

Dining car is here and ready for breakfast. Cheerios.

Y’all have a great Thursday.

Chuck

Morning. Rainy. Got a free big meal for lunch so only toast and coffee for breakfast. Not much else is happening. Good luck Texicans with Ike.

Yes, we know. We just thought as her husband you would be curious enough to attempt to find out who is sending them. [(-D]

Jack

Morning all,

It is not a good day as last night was really bad from a work standpoint. Two hours of futile effort were ultimately wasted by computer glitches. Just when I think I may be catching up, I find myself even further behind. I really enjoy most aspects of my job, but there are certain parts that are tearing me up. I need to step back, look around and see what I want to do with the rest of my life because where I am is not where I will be. I hope everyone else has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

**Chief…**ever do a search only to discover what you are looking for is in the Pot? Then you have to spend 10 minutes paging to the post. If the post is mid “Pot” year, fageddaboutit. Fife’s hair is important and fascinating info., but not that important. [:D]

Jack

Mornin’ boys. Cloudy & 66 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Roy - Don’t you like have a hurricane to prepare for or something[#dots]

RockIsland - High & tight since '93. Saved a bundle on combs.

88 - Focus please. You had me with flamingos…don’t let stars get in your eyes.

GOOD MORNING ALL

We have bright sun going to high 70s next few days with some rain expected to be thrown in. No train plans for today, at least not yet. Gee with the high cost of food these days, if I was getting most of my meals free maybe I could buy a house by the lake. Just a thought…S.J.

Morning boys

Sad day today, Just thought I’d check it and say hi. Has already showered here, should make the day more “delightful” with the aggrevated humidity. Up to 90F on top of that.

Never Forget.

Have a good one.

Rich

Ten minutes? I wish! Try to find something in the middle of part 1 and you are paging down forever. Being able to go back and find something you know was posted in the pot is why I would like to see it broken up by month. Would not take nearly as long.
