2008 [PART 2] and the Coffee Pot is still on and now 4 years old. Here we gather as friends with trains. Sweet ice tea too.

Ouch - glad you are okay! Somehow, icecream makes everything better - but you should have had banilla, it’s extra good [(-D] Tables are looking nice and sounds like they will look great!

out of 4 tables only one was perfectly square[:-^] but it is all good from the begining till now the only casualties was a hammer that got broke, my finger and one chewed up phillips bit(went and got a pack 50 bits and they were of better quality metal so I have 49 extra bits for next project[#oops]

CSX, sounds like you are doing fine. Just don’t kill yourself before you finish. [:O][;)]

Reclinerized again. Good night. Sleep tight and don’t let the bed bugs bite.

Apologies to Carl Swanson and Douglas Fritscher, picked up two copies off CTT. Trouble with multi-tasking. Not really a man thing as the ladies will attest.

HI GIZ,

66 and misting here to get to 74? Played GOLF against BRO last nite and lost again. But wings and YUENGs were great.

BUCKEYE TGIF!!!

Good Morning from Blueberryhill…

It is a cloudy 70 degrees. Light wind. Rained a little last night. Suppose to rain, on and off, all day. Going up to 75.

Glad I got all the mowing done yesterday. Today is an easy day. I plan on relaxing and running trains later. No errands to run. Usual chores around the house. Should be a nice indoor day.

Dining car is here and it’s breakfast time. Then it is off to “Points West”.

Buckeye…TGIF

Y’all have a great Friday.

Mornin’ boys. Mornin’ English. Overcast & 72 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Took the day off for son’s birthday (14). Made him breakfast before school, then held him down so littlest princess could unleash her fury on his behind. Celebratory dinner tonight at Bertucci’s, and gift giving.

Chief - I can’t wait to meet HOSS and LITTLE JOE…[C):-)]

Good morning all,

It is rainy in SE Indiana with temps in the 70s. Yesterday was a much better day at work, far better than I expected. Soccer was not so good, tho. Boys lost 3-1 and “my” soccer girls lost 1-0. JV girls tied 0-0. Did some small tasks around the house and some brief Second Life. No more points IRL races this year, but there is an F-1 race. Motorcycles are racing at IMS this weekend. Part of me would like to go, but the weather does not look good and Lucas is coming home for the weekend. I had the regular fare on the dining car this weekend. I hope everyone has a great day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Chief,

You can never have too much storage space. I enjoyed the photo spread you posted previously when you were getting serious about the property. While you seemed to indicate this is a secondary residence, I think it will be a primary one eventually.

How many of us have enough storage space or garage space where we live? I don’t. Many if not most people have at least one car that sits out 24/7/365 because of this, some without a single car in the garage.

Then…up Nawth, the winter ice and snow can turn a simple 5 minute trip to the store into a project. Sometimes the ice is so bad you can’t even get into the car because the doors are iced shut and tight, and pulling on the door handle when this happens…you can wind up with the broken handle in your hand with the door still sealed nicely. Lean on the car to break the seal, an

Morning boys, hello John B across the pond!

Busy day already…[|(]

Rained last night, so it will be very uncomfortable for the rest of the day.

Not much going on, looking forward to the weekend, work at the LTS tomorrow. My son picked up his '88 Dodge Daytona and showed him how to do a tune up and check the electrical system. I have to get moving on the Satellite, might start that again on Sunday.

Planning for Biketoberfest and Halloween Horror nights next month, but work is going to make this a problem. I have some special sales on Saturdays in October they “need” for me to be at.

OH, well…at least it’s a better day today than yesterday.

Have a good one!
Rich

Jack, you were not around when I had the carpet RR started. It was know as the Wedding Presents Mountain RR. It ran around and through the wedding presents left by the Youngest in her bedroom. Took over a year to get them out. Some, we even started using ourselves as she had duplicates. Then when I started the Roseyville Div. of NS in Frankie’s bedroom, hauled a lot of his “stuff” to him and cleaned out the walkin attic by hauling off Oldest’s junk. Youngest still has sand snow babies in my display case for my Halmark engines. They never move!!!

Morning. Drizzle and cloudy. Off to Environmental Services Committee meeting at County Offices. Free lunch. [;)] [actually half a sandwich and salad but plenty of sweet ice tea] Then back. Got my free little trailer back. Had guy weld extra framing so I could put on a 5 by 6 deck. Taking it to the Lake House as a trailer for hauling needs [golfcart, lawnmower or when only $ Runner is there]. Always need a spare trailer. Going to put decking boards on it as a deck. HAve a good one. Later

CSXect hit the nail on the head. MikeC too, Diet and exercise (strictly Doc approved). Many/most of us guys find ourselves in your boat. Not to worry. This isn’t a Rocky movie where you have two months to get ready for Apoolo Creed.

Now, how to make the dietary transition easier? Don’t reinvent the wheel. Get the answers from someone who is actually living the dietary changes. Your dietician and Doc can hook you up with current/former patients willing to help others translate the suggested substitute items into palatable if not downright tasty products and brands. There is mostly (to my tastes) a lot of cardboard-tasting substitute stuff on the shelves at the grocery store. You don’t need to make culinary mistakes by blindly trying everything. And you don’t need to become an expert on carbs, fats, sugars, and empty calories. Someone else has already done that with a predeliction for what tastes good.

After meeting w

GOOD MORNING ALL,

Overcast and rain is what they say, 70s though so thats fine. I keep forgetting the chief can’t see to read and end up starting over. What I did as my three kids got married was when they got back from the honeymoon, all their stuff was boxed and waiting for them. I’d be willing to bet some of it would still be here if I had not helped them out. No plans for the day so all of you enjoy your Friday…S.J.

Morning all - sick with a big big 'backto school ’ cold past few days - my bad eye started flashing too so we had to get that looked at. Everything OK though. Grey and muggy here. Prayers for our Texicans.

Jack,

That hit a little too close to home! Who told you about this!?[;)][:D] It’ll move under it’s own power again, the money I set aside for it just keeps disappearing. I will not, under any circumstances, part with it.

Greetings to all, thought I would check in with the coffee pot to report I’m still alive. Have’nt posted for a while but I read the pot most of the time. I’m bumed out after reading news that the Grand Canyon Railway has cancelled their steam operations. (See my post under Grand Canyon Railway). It has been one of my favorite places to see steam engines in operation. We went there a while back when the Locomotive Historical Society had their convention. Prayers for all of those who are ill. Good luck to others in path of Hurricane. I have had to buy quite a few meds this month. I’m heading for the donut hole fast. Might have to consider an HMO or something else besides the plan I have or buy the stuff in Canada if I can. Ran trains this AM taking advantage of cool weather on my garage layout. Have a nice week end. Ray

Roy, Brent, Fife, Buckeye, Wes and others,

The Starlite Diner is no more. In May it was sold to a new owner and is now known as the Nautilus Diner. Stopped for breakfast this morning with Jean and was surprised to see the new name. Food seemed OK at breakfast, although it was far from crowded at 9:30 AM. When we came back through at 12:15 the lot was only about half full & the Olive Garden next door was packed. Looks like they may be having the same problem as a lot of the “family restrauants” are having lately. Wanted to let those know who are unfamiliar with the area, so they don’t drive by looking for the long gone “Starlite”. RIP [:(]

Hope the rowdy dinner a certain group had there in April wasn’t the last straw for the old owner.

Hi guys, well I took today off to get both cars serviced and one inspected, take Chewy to her beauty parlor, and some other odds and ends that needed to be done for a while but I had postponed due to my training class. I’m glad I was off, as I apparently had some bad chinese food and didn’t have a pleasant night last night and little sleep. Oh well, the day is winding down. I have to pick up the kids from school and then figure out when to pick up wife from work to take her to get her vehicle - we can do that at any time as I already paid for the service. Doug, I hope you and the family get well soon - bummer to be sick at the end of the week! Sounds like a lot of good advice on here today, I’ll have to remember to box up the kids’ stuff and help them move it out one of these years! Talked to Sir James for about a half hour at lunch time - why can’t federal employees retire and then go work for another federal agency without losing their pension payments? That’s not fair. Kurt, I tried calling but I guess you are out with the kids. Doug & RT, I think you are at work? That’s all the phone numbers I’ve got! Oh well, I’ll be back later to see what’s up.

ROBBERY!!! (and Chief didn’t think I’d catch it) gasoline just jumped 45 cents per gallon. Now not climbed to that. Jumped to that. [V][xx(] ~#^%*

A RAT got into my post. [banghead] A nice RAT

Good luck Texians.

Brutus: Sorry I missed your call…I was home, but didn’t hear the phone ring.

I used to work for the government, and that was a going joke…someone retires and get’s hired back…drawing a paycheck, and retirement…pretty funny huh.

Been raining here since last night…Acorns think the trees are sinking, so they are bailing out the trees at an alarming rate…and pummelling the house. I can only imagine what the yard is like…Good thing the kids like to pick up the nuts.

I’m in for tonight! I’ll eat dinner at home, no take out…

Kurt
