February Coffee Pot 2016. 11 years old. Wonderful grits and sweet ice tea for the southern gents. Coffee and oatmeal for the Yanks.

Mornin’ boys. Rain and 42 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Just turned the tv off in total disgust.

Nice today, but tomorrow and Thursday could be nasty.

At least with March closing in, I won’t have to look at snow on the ground for 6 weeks.

Good evening all,

Wife is doing some better. Totally lousy day at work. Did run some trains tonight. I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Just a quick check in.

The high school kids on the robot team I’ve been working with made and posted a video of the robot they built. U tube video here:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZG_Ogeq6S2M

Hopefully the link works.

All for now.

Evening all!

Rained all day here. Think we got 1.5 in. Temps plummeted and will approach freezing tonight. Very high winds tonight. Maybe 50 tomorrow? Back to 70 by weekend.

8nt - cool video and looks to be a very sophisticated robot. I worked as a coach for my kids HS team in the BEST robotics league for several years. I also coached LEGO robotics at my kids elementary school for years after my kids had moved on.

Enjoying a nice fire in the fireplace tonight.

Started raining off and on yesterday afternoon. Now calling for severe T’storms tomorrow.

Phish, prayers everything will work out OK.

Good night crew.

Hello all

Staying up a bit late to be able to switch over to nights tomorrow.

Corvan gas tank is re-installed and back home. Speedo (spee-do-meter, Fife:) now works but gas gauge now doesn’t. Go figure:)

Datsun is chugging along. Like it alot. Need to sleuth some more wiring eventually and get the plate for it when I get back as the temporary tag ends next week.

Spent today w/ the bus group trying to get two Detroit Diesel turbo V-6’s started. One needs more battery oomph and I think it will go. The one in the '73 Fishbowl GM kicked over finally. What fun! Still need to chase some air leaks before the brakes release, but it looks like it may drive over to the new location. I think the ‘boss’ was fairly impressed w/ my trouble-shooting abilities. Going to grab some of the manuals and study up on these beasts when I’m at work.

And there is a possibility I may rent the coverted motorhome from them and live on the new property. I like my current place, but this would have some advantages and they could use the income to help pay the mortgage. And yes, it’s a GM bus:)

Kev - nice apparatus you have there now!

Phish - I have the greatest respect for your faith and positive attitude. Thoughts and prayers from me as well.

Time to finish up and find a pillow.

Aloha. Grey and cold. Supposed to snow late. Sigh. Hope it misses you, SJ.

Bob, living in a converted GM bus? Neat. I used to work as a dogsbody on the electric trolley buses at the IRM and I liked their fishbowl frames.

Tinplat, how’s the Marx 490 conversion going?

Roy, I’m curious - can you dig in your yard with all that cabling without calling JULIE or some other number where the cos. are supposed to come out and spraypaint where all their lines go? If we don’t call before digging here, we get in big trouble if we cut something.

Well today should prove to be interesting. It is 36 now and heading down to 31. They have a monster storm on the books for today and we are right on the edge where it can be lots of snow or it will just head into Doug and we will get little to none. So far the wind is screaming and it looks like we will get it. Wife went to work at 5:20am when it was still nice out there, but she drove right into where it will be way worse. 50 miles to the north east.

Looks like SJ is in the bull’s eye. [:O]

8N great job by the robot team!!!

Bob, some pictures of the possible new abode would be nice. [;)]

We seem to be right on the edge of not too bad and oh boy. I won’t complain, we have had a mild winter and any snow now won’t stay around for 6 weeks like a January snow.

S.J.

We are getting wet snow instead of the rain they predicted so I guess it will be the Oh boy.

Morning all. Last night they were saying we would be under a tornado watch this morning but since then they have down graded the effect here drastically

Today - Windy…isolated thunderstorms this morning, then partly cloudy during the afternoon hours. High 68 °F (20.0 °C). Winds SW at 25 to 35 mph (40.2 to 56.3 kph). Chance of rain 30%.

No real big train news did sell a engine last night for about double what I though it was worth but then on the bay who knows it was a engine in good shape just didn’t think it would bring that much so was pleasently surprised when it did.

not much else going on here today, need to get the shelves up in here for more trains, I keep putting it off.

What engine was that? Sometimes what your selling is just what 2 people have been looking for and they keep bidding.

I plan to mow the lawn today for the 1st time in a couple of months, hope the lawnmower starts.

My wifi din’t work again yesterday morning.

1055 Texas Special with no E-unit just runs forward. As built by Lionel

Evenin’ boys. Rain and 62 in the Mid-Atlantic region. Oh, and throw in a little coastal flooding. Spent day with Wifey in kitchen scrubbing out cabinets, pitchin’ and a throwin’. Meet with realtor lady Tuesday…

rt - I’m glad you made some coin, for a change. [(-D]

Phish, sorry to hear about the layoff. It happened to me at age 42 with 17 years. no prospect for another Job and only two weeks severence pay. Turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me, thank God. It led to me going to work for the railroad and becoming a locomotive enginer which was what I always wanted but had given up. The timing was perfect since my kids were already in high school and I had been able to do all the things with them when they were growing up. I could not have done it when they were younger without giving up a big part of our lives. Hope the Lord will bless you with something good too.

Ray

Evening all!

Turned into a really nice day in the 50’s after the rain and howling winds last night.

Tomorrow to be the same and slowly warming to 70’s for the weekend. Sunny days ahead!

Doug M - supposedly, but when called by the cable guys they only marked the main lines in the alley, not the linea to my house, including the gas line! I look at it this way. They could have buried the lines over 2 ft down as they should be and that would put them below the sprinkler lines which are 10-12 inches down. At 6 in down I think they take the liability. Probably cheaper for them to replace a few lines vs the cost of sinking them properly.

Have a great evening all!

Evenin’ fellars !

Ray, Sent you an e-mail.

The old rear projection TV bit the dust, that sucker was heavy. SWMBO was adamant in me not moving it out of the house so to make her happy and keep the peasce I hired a couple of older teens to help. Was still a pain but it is in the back of the truck and going to the recycling center tomorrow. Now I have a real nice HD flat screen. [tup][tup] The bad part is now I gotta find a decent stand, preferrably a corner unit, that don’t cost a fortune.

All you Easties keep your heads down and stay safe with this crazy weather heading for points north and east. [angel]

Time to see what I can rustle up for supper.

Later all !

Good evening all,

Got done what I needed to do at work and made it home ok. Phone still does not work at work. How much does it take to get a &)*)&&_ phone to work? Really needed it today as daughter got caught in the mess between Lafayette and Chicago. She made it back to Kokomo ok. New program these hot shots have been promising us for weeks is so buggy it is not funny. Skipped soccer tonight (if they even had it) as I was too tired. Slept most of the evening and now getting ready for bed. Wife still feels lousy. Life can be interesting…sometimes. I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Hello all

Back at work for another week. First night shift is always the longest.

Have plenty of projects and reading to keep me busy. Picked up four manuals from the barn for the busses I am working on. Got the '73 diesel spotter’s guide in today.

Kev - will get some more pics next time I am off. Bus is ‘50s vintage, about 8 X 35’. The trailer I rent now is around 10 X 40’ so it will be a bit of a downsize. I hoping they can find me a small office or closet somewhere in the office space in the new building if it works out.

DougM - we have some nifty stuff in the collection.

Bob

We dodged the bullet yesterday. It snowed light all day but nothing stuck. 60 miles east they got 14" of the white stuff. All the news can talk about today. So the tractor sits with the snow plow on it ready for the next adventure. 34 now and will go to 40 later.

Those storms out east were bad. [angel] Prayers for those who were in the path yesterday.

I got a hold of a friend of mine who delivers bulk fuel for Farm Service that I worked with back in the 80s and set him on the trail to find me and fuel transfer tank I can put in the cold side of the shed to fill the JD from. So he is going to ask around and see if he can find me something good, used & cheap. Funny I have not talked to him in over 20 years and he knew who I was right off.

Bob that sounds cool.
