February Coffee Pot 2016. 11 years old. Wonderful grits and sweet ice tea for the southern gents. Coffee and oatmeal for the Yanks.

Were still in unseasonably warm 87 today, were going shooting in a hout, its 2 hours earlier than what’s above.

Doug da you’ll be blown away by the picture quality, I still am a few months later. Even VCR looks better due to much larger size you see things better.

My Craftsman mower started on the 1st pull yesterday after not being used for a couple of months.

Mornin’ all!

Lots of rain last night - backyard was swampy this morning. Gonna take a while for that to dry out.

Tyler’s had nausea issues all week - finally went to school late this morning. I think they’ve been exacerbated by anxiety and lack of sleep. His sleep schedule has been all screwed up - I need to lay down the law this weekend and get him on a normal schedule.

The Christmas trains are packed away, but the layout is still down. Need to break that up this weekend and store it.

Have a good one!

Aloha. Back from grocery shopping. Now to laundry. Then a bit more work. Fortunately we dodged all the snow. There’s nothing on the ground here and downtown it snowed all day but nothing stuck. Dougda, I’m glad you didn’t move that sucker by yourself. I have a gigantic old CRT TV in the basement that’ll be there for a long long time because I don’t want to move it.

Roy, what you say about the buried lines makes a lot of sense.

Good evening all,

Slow day at work. Car pool person bailed on me again for tomorrow. How many days and how many people does it take to repair a phone? 4 days and who knows how many people. At least it works. Tried working on the program developed by the …people below. Too bad they talk a good talk…only. Ugh… Went to a Social Security meeting tonight. So ready to start on that… Did have a good walk today. Will be interesting to see how this weekend’s walk goes. Heard from Lucas tonight. Also got a Trains magazine today. Good issue. I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Mornin’ boys. A brisk 32 in the Mid-Atlantic region. Mother Nature created a laundry list of things for me to do before Tuesday, so you might not hear from me 'til middle of the week.

cheapclassics - I’m finding interesting the use of drones for railroad photography. Certainly gives a fresh perspective to old familiar railfan sites.

Hello There

TGIF!!!

Mom’s in the hospital again. Better now she’s going to rehab for a week or two today or tomorrow.

Frying fish again this evening. More later.

Prayers for those in need

Morning gang!

Brisk, close to freezing this morning. Sunny. Headed to 60 today and possibly 70 for weekend. Nice!

Finished garage shelves mounted up high on the walls. Started cleaning out cabinets, existing shelves, etc. The plan is to make room for a workbench where the shelves and cabinets are now in front of the cars. Sorted through boxes of plumbing and home hardware stuff, much of which is not useful anymore through various remodels. Big box of metal to take to scrap bin at the city. Two contractor bags of trash. The rest of the stuff is now in the garden shed. Told the wife that with all the boxed home repair stuff in the shed that only I know what it is used for - that should anything happen to me - all of it can go to the dump except for lawn mower, weed eater, garden tools, etc.

Fife - wind damage?

Banks - [angel] for your mom’s continued recovery.

Buckeye - no York [:'(] oh no!

Morning all. 46 and sunny. Been really busy last two days. Dodged the tornados that hit around us. Just had a few minutes of heavy rains.

Got the March Pot reminder loaded in my calendar.

Off to Town Hall.

Doug in Sandy Eggo, sorry but I did not see your E mail. May have deleted it in error.

Pretty quiet hear now. Warm weather is back with us and no rain in sight. If we don’t get some rain next month it will probably be over until next winter. I wonder if I can get a refund for my flood insurance that we were stampeded into buying because of so called El Nino headed our way.

We have a brand new light rail line that is scheduled to open on March 5th. Also a new line from L.A. to Santa Monica will open in May. Then I will be able to ride all the way from my town to the Pacific Ocean on an electric railway. The new Gold line near us follows the right of way of the old Santa Fe Railway. I used to see the Super Chief on this same line.

Have a good weekend all,

Ray

Just saw on TV our unseasonable warm weather continues all week Sat. 79/49 Sun. 78/50 Mon. 80/50

I rear ended a pickup awhile ago with my Integra GSR and did get a hood from a junkyard but no front bumper (nose)

KRM told me where to get a new nose, I had no idea such a thing was available It arrived this afternoon, I’m glad I was home, I was kind of worried about how this would work as its a BIG box, its the whole front of my car. Only weighs 10 LBS as its all plastic. It came from Illinois. The FedX driver was real nice.

Both front fenders weren’t hurt and the rest of the car is fine.

Evenin’ All.

Long day today, all of today’s stuff unpacked and put back where they belong. Kid’s Club tomorrow so all of the stuff is packed, three trains plus back-up loco’s, and staged in the garage. Up early to load the truck and hit the road.

Fife_No luck in finding the “perfect place” yet ? Check this one out in Ranch Santa Fe however it may somewhat restrict your train budget for awhile afterwards. http://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/news/2016/feb/23/del-dios-ranch-sale/#2 [swg]

Was able to chat with folks from all over the country today, NH, Il, NC, Ky. That’s really the best part of being there, especially making some kiddo smile and laugh.

Time to see what’s in the fridge to eat, to tired to cook.

See y’all tomorrow nite.

Good evening all,

A nothing day at work brightened considerably when I opened my email at home. My Norwegian soccer friend sent me an email saying she got the birthday card I sent her (which it got there on time and I had the right address). She wished a happy birthday as well (three out of every 4 years our days are only 1 day apart), and then she told her fiancee had the same birthday as me! I wrote her back and told her she has found the right person to spend her life with. Lucas called again tonight and he is doing well. I hope everyone has a good day.

Hello all

Another quiet night on the mountain.

Dennis - glad you were able to find the part for your car

Trying out changing couplers on some of the N-scale stuff. Micro-trains has a lot of different options available so it will take some time to figure out what I need.

Running a Minitrix 0-6-0 right now on the test track. Doing fairly well for something that is that small and old enough to be made in West Germany.

Still need to get the power blocks figured out on the layout at home so I can run two trains.

Flipped thru all the bus manuals I have last night. Got some ideas for the problems we have on the '73 GM. The Flxible bus has a similiar engine except it’s a V-8. Studied up a bit on the engine in the post-war Twin Coach. It’s basically a straight six lying on it’s side. Gene said they started it once on starting fluid. Hopefully we may be able to drive 5 buses over to the new facility.

Ordered some pedal pads for the Datsun off the bay. Apparently there is a lot of repro stuff coming out of Thailand. I don’t know how good the quality it, but it is inexpensive and will be better than nothing which is on there now:)

Morning all! Busy day today – Noah has his third birthday party so having a slew of folks over for that. Plus should probably change my signature! Bought some 16/5 and 16/4 cable this week so I can wire up my 022s and UTCs from the rough prototype control panel I’ve been working on. Going to use the extra conductors to send track power to them for a little extra boost in those areas. For the 022s I bought some of the fixed voltage plugs from TinMan3Rail that have an outside conductor that connects to the center rail when inserted – pretty clever idea.

The 2037 from RTC is coming along – Super O connectors now removed, everything lubed, smoke unit running like a champ. Think I have an intermittent short in the wire connected to the collector (which would seem impossible to unsolder without ripping the whole thing apart) so am going to slide some shrink wrap over it and see what happens.

Morning all to early to tell whats going on today. 32* going to 57* today. Need to take my meds and make something to eat. Hope you all have a good day.

Bright sun and 40s today, 50s tomorrow. Hopefully that will take care of the frozen slush. I preordered a Lionel PS1 boxcar with sounds. Should be a fun car with the ckickity clack and squeals.

S.J.

High surf again for all the surfers in the Coffee Pot.

Calif. has what they call a summer blend of gas, its suppose to cause a little less smog. Its more expensive, gas is expected to go up 30 cents each and every gallon and for nothing, absolutely nothing.

We already have the most expensive gas in the nation.

No wonder no one daily drives a large cubic inch V8 hot rod anymore.

Man I hate the government here.

Price of living in paradise Dennis. [;)]

Well Katie and the kids were coming over but it got to almost 60 and they did other stuff so now not sure what we will do tonight. We call this nice weather. [(-D]
